Re: girls! i'm new fill me in... what's cute for girls' sportscars?

well the eclipse being a girls car is subjective. Just that everytime on the road I always see a cute lil girl in eclipses, and the eclipse does fit the profile of a girl's car. All my friends think so, again though, it's subjective.

As far as reliability, I can't say if it's reliability sux or not because I don't own an eclipse, but from what I've heard from other eclipse owners, DSM motors are a bitch to keep up with. They say it's a hell of a fun car to drive, but that something always breaks down and it's something new each time, nothing u can really anticipate and prevent.

Again this is only from what I've heard, and mitsu's parent company is hyundai, and hyundai is known for crappy reliability issues...

Why would I own and buy an eclipse after hearing all this, I mean really. If yours is reliable eclipse-gsx that's good then, but from the vast vast majority, I hear otherwise. Sounds like ur bias as shit eclipse

Re: girls! i'm new fill me in... what's cute for girls' sportscars?

...why are you eclipse drivers bashing on dayna240sx? those are nice real cars. "slut cars"..im lost...this thread is meaningless!!! THere are no such things as "girl cars". cars dont reproduce. but you can have a car and gurly it. The eclipse gsx is very nice as long as its well maintained, but the rs....is just weak...but then again anything is possible with the right amount of money.

The 420a block blows. If you fit it with a turbocharger, you might as well buy a 4g63. For roughly the same price without the labor. You also get stronger internals to withstand furthur boost.

My TSI Talon had 110k miles and was already giving me alot of problems. You don't get the quality of Honda or Toyota, but it's good bang for the buck. It was fast, but even with AWD it didnt handle quite as well as my Prelude.

Re: girls! i'm new fill me in... what's cute for girls' sportscars?

i haven't had any problems with my car whatsoever. it drives fabulous and smooth. i had to get new break pads once but that was about it. so far, i find it pretty reliable, although i've only had it for a little under a year. actually wait i take that back. my gas lever broke so everytime i get gas, i have to have someone with me to hold it up while i go and push the door open. not that that really has anything to do with the engine. also, i do sort of agree that to start with, eclipses are pretty girly cars. of course, as you can "girly it" i think you can "guy it" as well by making it fast and all that. but i'm just goin for girly. would be pretty fun if it was a convertible though :-)

eclipsical --> "i think you can "guy it" as well by making it fast and all that. " ARE YOU SAYING GIRLS DONT MAKE THEIR CARS FAST????? i'm sick of you dragging down the stereotype this forum is trying to prove false. many of the girls in here have made their car fast and are fast drivers and it doesnt make them masculine. i dont want this to break out into another arguement about girls vs. guys. because in this case its girls-who-are-fast (or trying to be quick) vs. girls(like you)who-think-girls-are-slow. girlying your car does not mean keeping it slow. end of discussion. ban her in this case if she got nothing worthwhile to say

SETTLE DOWN!!!

Let her do what she wants. I dont think she is dragging down anyone but herself. I know there is a stereotype that girls are slow, but all we can do is prove guys wrong. If she wants to "girly" out her car she is probably just going to recieve negative attention. I tried to help, but people took it as me being a bitch.

Re: girls! i'm new fill me in... what's cute for girls' sportscars?

yeah i do need to settle down. thanx for the reality check dayna240. I just get so fumed because during high school i had 3 part time jobs on the side of 6 AP classes to save up for my car. I finally bought the car, but now ive quit all cuz the classes im taking this semester have been difficult cuz im trying to get into med school. And girl drivers are extremely uncommon here so I received so many negative comments behind my back and to my face about my driving and my car from people who have never seen my car or my driving. And i do drive well because i hafta drive on average 2 hours a day some days more. And I can launch no prob, but just cuz im female I get put down before i've ever been given a chance. n since i'm not working now, i'm relying on my scholarships and financial aid to carry me through college and car mods (and sponsers help a lil). so when someone like eclipsical opens her mouth i cant help but think its her and ppl that think like her that have been putting all of us down

Umm.. no

Tell you the truth, I've never met a serious girl racer in my life. It's quite tragic really. It's just not something alot of girls get into.

She said MAJORETY, not ALL. Your best friend is an exception to that "rule." I know quite a few girls that are way into speed over show, doesn't make one any better than the other. As long as they know what they are doing without much male help, then props to them no matter if it's for show, or for speed.

Re: girls! i'm new fill me in... what's cute for girls' sportscars?

boy, talk about a lot of ignorant people. I didn't even bother reading most of the posts because it seems like it's just the same BS over and over. Just to fill you guys in, there happens to be two major aspects to the import scene. Go and Show. Some people opt for one over the other and some for both. Either way, the people who excel in either are winning trophies and getting paid. Remember that next time you see some "riced out" car, and I don't mean the average ricer out there. You just might see it on the cover of a magazine in the next month. And they are getting paid while doing something they like to do.
