most people don't understand how fast the 4th prelude vtec's are, since there aren't many around to race. they're heavy this...they're heavy that...blah blah blah blah blah

the 4th gen prelude vtec's easily hang with the itr's stock for stock. (yes guys...our beloved type-r..bless it)

..so...go ahead...tell me my car's slow.

(NOTE: The above statement is not directed towards anyone in particular...its just something i've been wanted to get off my chest for a while now lol)

btw...you'll smoke him

True! The "slowest" 4th and 5th gen Preludes had a 2.0i 133PS (~135hp?) SOHC non-VTEC engine but I think the were not available in the US and Canada!?! I used to own a 4th gen with this engine.....It was still faster than most other similar cars (Renault Megane for example) and I could even beat some slightly faster ones, too.

Isn't a base Prelude like 135hp SOHC?
the prelude si would win as long as the drivers are equaL, DONE IT ON THE HIGHWAY AND AT THE TRACK, BOTH PLACES NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES WE RAN, I WON ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AGAINST SEVERAL CIVIC Si'S, OFF THE LINE I HAD BETTER TRACTION, THATS HOW THE WIEGHT HELPS, oh to answer the question the si prelude is 159 hp at the crank

Well, that certainly gives me hope, but I am still skeptical until I get a chance to go against a Civic Si myself. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a Civic Si's B16 does 160hp and weighs several hundred pounds less than us? I think it would be close, but not equal. Unless the Civic driver was sloppy. (This is 4th gen Prelude Si vs. Civic Si I'm talking about here)

Re: My buddie wants to RACE MY LUDE

Aces...ur correct but we're speaking civics b16 vtec against prelude's h22 vtec 160-190 hahaha Prelude's R the best...besides the h23 twin-cam 160 Si has 156 Torque compare to the civic's b16 VTEC 111 Torque and the civic doesn't weight that much less...check if you don't belive me...not saying that the Si isn't fast cause frankly it is by Prelude's R just faster...and by the way...here's an update I raced the 98 Honda Accord EX single cam V-Tec "auto" with intake,exhaust...on wed. night and won by close to 8 cars no kidding....from take off on hahaha....Civic ur next....hopefully we race soon...

Okay. Well, as I said before, the h22 will run circles around any stock civic *and* integra.

Re: My buddie wants to RACE MY LUDE

about the 4th gen lude si and new civic si, i checked their 1/4 mile times and the lude has it beat. the extra torqe of the prelude must help it out quite a bit.
