you mentioned sr20de, what kinda motor is this compared to honda? is it a 4banger or a 6? what other engine types are there for nissan? ive only been exposed to honda engines so ive yet to learn what kind of performance engines nissan, mitsubishi and toyota have.

the SR20DE is a non turbo version of the now super duper famous SR20DET from the nissan silvia's ( japanese 240sx ). the motor is a perfect square. it has the exact same bore and stroke size so the engine is both rev happy and has decent tq. the motor is also extremely overly built. that stock motor that came with 140hp can handle 400hp. since the block and the internals are made of the same materials as the turbo motor. there are however a few differences. the non turbo version has a higher compression ratio, and it does not have piston cooling oil squirters. and here is how you read nissan blocks

example: SR20DE= SR is the block name.....20 is the size 2.0 liter......D is for dual overhead cam........E is for electronic fuel management.

example: SR20DET = same as before but the T stands for turbo.

example: RB26DETT= same deal but now the 2 T's stands for twin turbo.

Re: Sore loser well...loses sorely

Here's a list off the top off my head. I'm only addressing USDM Nissan nameplates, excluding the Infiniti badged cars, and Nissans outside the US, as they have variations of these motors US Nissan enthusiasts have never even heard of (like the VQ32DETT). I will also leave out the trucks and vans, even though the VG, VQ and KA series have been used in them. I'll also keep it within the 90's and above.

Nissan guys, correct me where I'm wrong.

GA Series
GA16DE: 1991-1994 Sentra GXE/XE/E (110HP), 1995-1998 Sentra base/GLE/GXE/XE (115HP), 1995-1998 200SX (115HP)

carnutt the B15 SE-R's runs on the QR25DE. not the VQ. lolz i would expect the V stands for V engines thats why all nissan V engines such as the VH45DE and VG30DETT or VQ35DE are all V engines.

Re: Sore loser well...loses sorely

Okay guys, I edited and put the proper corrections in. Like I said, it was off the top of my head, and I was in class (kept getting interrupted), so there.

Hey, I know of a local Cavalier that might want to race you .
sounds cool man, yeah i'll race him sometime but probably gonna have to be after sunday. I'm at a seasonal job right now and i have to work every day open/close. The store closes after sunday though so maybe then we can arrange something. Does this guy (or gal ) have some series mods and think they can beat a lightly modified 5.0? cya

Ya dude.. this guy has more than serious mods... he has freaking ECOTEC!!! omg omg.... dude.. I dont know if little old Foxbody's can take on Ecotecs.

oh ya..

good kill Carnutt. Good thinking on not taking any more physical action as well. The consequences just aren't worth it nowadays. I woulda just let him "win" and save myself the anger and the possible troubles.
