Re: 15" winter rims

What I mean by "these things are tippy enough" is based on experience. I'm not trying to piss you guys off, but my comment is based on experience. As I said, I own one of the things! The fact is, it's taller than it is wide (unless you've lowered it and have low profile tires) and on mountain roads I have a concern.

Looking at the pictures you guys have posted of your zuks, it appears to me that you are 'city folks' and your GV's spend their time on pavement. That's cool. I'm not talking about taking an 85mph corner on blacktop, I am interested in giving my wife a decent traction tire (rock/mud/snow) without having to jack her zuk way up or stuff it into the fenders.

If I can eventually replace the 235/60R16 low profs with something like a 235/75R15 then I can find all kinds of traction tires to meet the need...

Don't get defensive, relax, we're trying to solve a problem here...

Re: 15" winter rims

I actually 4-wheel my Vitara and have a set of 15" rock crawler rims on it with a set of 27" swampers. The only problem I ran into was the wheels hitting the calipers beacause of the offset (not the diameter !) I ordered a set of 1" spacers from Spidertrax and they work awesome.
My "winter" driving consists of plowing through 10~20 inches of snow, and these tires work great. when summer comes I throw the factory wheels back on.

Re: 15" winter rims

Thank you for your post! A couple of questions:

Do you leave the spacers in during the summer?
Do you notice a change in handling/performance?
