no that proice is definatly good for the subs jus look around for another amp. i know the circut city in my area doesnt carry too many brands so if thats the case where u live too ask around about amps and find one with high watts that will power the subs nicely.

About how much power does an amp has to have to work well with the subs? If you get like a 500w sub, how much power does the amp have. How about for the 1500w subs?

Im not fond of Sony or MTX. Sony just doesnt have their stuff togther yet and I dont think that MTX makes the best subs. I like Rockford Fosgate for subs and amps. Clarion is my choice for deck. Alpine decks are getting to be top quality also. Have fun

rms is the amount of continuous power the speaker can handle. peak is the amount of power the speaker can handle during a brief musical burst. I believe each mtx sub can handle 250watts rms and 500 peak. They get the 1500watts from adding up the peak power of all the speakers.

Would I need an amp that has about the same power as the rms, or peak power?

Also..
Is 750rms and 1500 peak good for around 340? (includes the box)

I'm sorry, correct me if I'm wrong, but peak power to me doesn't mean jack, from what i've seen it's just a number they throw out there to attract people, RMS is where it's at. RMS is it's true power output or power handling. But then again who knows if RMS is just a number they throw out also, you can't really tell without the special tools to measure it. But yeah I think if you had to know, I would look at the RMS.

I'd say, get a amp that has a good reputation in the car audio industry that has a good power output (rms) and won't overpower your subs, and blow them, but then again thats what the gain knobs are for lol

Xtant, Alpine, Kenwood are all good car audio companies for amps. Sony to me, and just like Unite@af said, it's just not all their. For subs, go with JL or Eclipse. Remember this is just my opinion, don't take it to heart.

For more info check out www.carreview.com they got reviews on different car audio products there, maybe that can help you out a little. Good luck.

yeah u gotta look at rms b/c if u put 1500 watts into em continusly u will kill ur subs. personally i love mtx subs. the hit alot harder then my friends jls and rockfords. if rms power is 750 then get an amp that does at least 700. im assuming that all the subs are connected into on terminal cap right?

its on the back of the box its a little round plastic thing with a red and a black screw or clip, its where u attach the amp wires. the wirs from the subs go into the back of it.

no b/c if u take all the positive wires, and braid em together u can put em into one positive hole. same with the negatives so there could be either 3 or 1 on that box
