Re: why can't the stock 240 be good?
"since it came from the factory with a KA then I believe it was made for it..." But the chassis came from Japan, the KA is the lower end american engine for the Silvias (the 240's of course) i simply think that the 240 is better off with an engine swap, thats just my opinion, some people like the KA24 Engines.

yeah, that's about when mine kicked back down...5200 plus or minus 100 rpms, of that I'm 100% sure.

the KA24DE is a stronger engine than the SR, plus its a 2.4, the SR is a 2.0, so rebuild the KA and turboing it will be better than swapping a SR even if you rebuild it... end of discussion

Re: why can't the stock 240 be good?
honestly, just get a mustang 5.0 that had mass air then do exhaust, buy performance heads and get a cam and 3.73 gears. Now you would have a car thats mad fast maybe even run high 12's if you get a good combination. It will probaly be pretty reliable and cheaper to repair then any of the cars you mentioned. Shore it wont have super handling but we live in america, we just need some massive acclerating power and a v8 rumble.

Wow Soyo, sounds like your getting mad, END OF DISCUSSION! hahaha, well yes if you had the blessing of a DOHC KA24 then by all means.
I like the SR20DET because it has up to a 15Psi safe boost, and a stock turbo, with a KA you need a new Turbo manifold(If your adding a turbo that is). Depends who you are, you may like either.

I got the KA and money is never an issue for me, so when I get it ($$) looks like I'm going KA turbo! :-D

Re: why can't the stock 240 be good?
if you just wanna fly down the track, and your willing to spend that much, buy a supra and do a few bolt on upgrades and you can probably run low 13's high 12's, or you could get a WRX which is faster even than the mustang cobra both on the strip and on the track, and it runs high 13's stock so a few bolt ons will drop that a bit...
why do we always have these same discussions over and over again?

to be perfectly serious for the poor guy....
of those three choices, barring the mustang, cuz, well, its a ford go with the 240. the rx-7 is just plain unliable...turbo or not, and good luck finding someone who knows anything about them in a fifty mile radius of wherever you live. the porsche, while definatly cooler and more exotic, is pricey, parts and maintenence. it would cost something like 50 bucks an oil change, etc etc etc the 240 is quite quick enough, very reliable, and easy to work on. plus, its highly upgradable when you decide to dump more money in it. the stock engine wails with a turbo, or go the beefier route with an RB, whatever your choice. though if your looking for a car thats of the same type and the same price range, ill also recommend a 3rd generation prelude. i know its a honda, but my lil 91 si has put more than one 240 to shame
