talon not running
Thanks a lot! Ya i bet i do just have a bad head gasket and warped head! The thing is the person who was drivng it at the time drove it almost out of oil which is when it started overheating and then also the coolant went and it was overheated to the point of shut down several times! errr! so ya I think im definitley gettting the head plained! its only 50bucks at a local shop and hes pretty good! so do you think I should worry about rings at all?? they look alright but do you think i should swap in a new pair while i can?

Well now... Based on this new information (or I didnt see it before perhaps) I would say dont bother putting that engine back together until you check the cylinders for wear, size, and roundness. Odds are at the very least you should rering it and hone it. If its out of round, size, or jsut worn/damamged then you may have to bore and hone, which will require pistons with matching oversize. In a nutshell, a basic rebuild. IT sucks bigtime, but its one of those things, do it right, do it once. If you get it all together and compression is still 120, you'll be wishing you were dead and drinking 40s until you puke for weeks, trust me
In any case, good luck with it. Try to use a good trustworthy machinist, and if you have any other questions, dont hesitate to post of course.
