You apparently don't watch F1 on TV.

What do you think of them? I cam close to trying them, but I didn't have time to order them and had to buy tires locally. Fortunately we have pleny o' Discount Tire stores here in Houston.

Have fun trying to get a hold of A520's. I work at a tire/wheel store and we have got e-mails directly from Yokohama that say they are replacing the A520 and A540 with the new A550V and A550H. We can't even order the 520's anymore. Maybe you can find a wharehouse that still has some laying around. Of the A550's we have sold so far, there has been a very favorable response. Plus the tread design looks pretty sweet.

Initially I was to go with Kuhmo's .. since my mom's 92 Maxima has those and they have worked well on that car .. but the Nankang's are not bad at all. They hold up in all types of weather and I've been in rain, slush, some snow with them. I have enough thread on them and haven't lost control with the car during any of these conditions. I think if you give them a shot, you might like them . I am pleased with them for being a, so called, "cheap" tire, but I am somewhat cautious driving with the Nankangs in unfavourable weather.

Hi all,

New to the list and have a couple of comments. I think the A520 is an excellent buy and a great rain tire. I tried them on my NSX and they were great. Very compliant compared to the oem Yokos which wanted to steer into every groove and rut.

I have not looked into availability, but if the Bridgestone SO2s are available in your size, they would be an excellent choice as well. MUCH more expensive, but awesome grip ... far better than the A520. Beautiful tread pattern as well. Shame the SO3 is not as good looking.

Thank you for the welcome. I am happy to find this forum. Honestly, I did not expect to find the G20 so well received by so many enthusiasts. Most people do not appreciate how great this little toaster is ... until they drive one.

I love your wheels. I always wanted white wheels on my bike but the chain grease makes too much mess. And ... okay ... I am a bit lazy.

I have been wanting to modify the G20 for awhile and am having a bit of trouble getting performance springs for it. After waiting three months, the technician ended up with rear springs that don't fit the dampers. I will try the stock springs with the new shocks and see how that goes. Very disappointing.

The NSX is really in a class by itself. But it goes through tires like you would not believe. I am on the third set already in less than one year. It is expensive to run the low profile SO2's so I may put the stock wheels and A520s back on for cool weather driving. Of course getting a set of wheels to the shop is no small feat in an NSX, either.

When I bought my G20, I was in the dark as to what to do with it. Then I found this place and now I'm modifying like gang busters! - there are many helpful people here that are willing to help you with your questions. Also, there's lots of info on what you can do with YOUR G- so if you haven't done so, look around and ask away!

That's the downfall with white rims. Many people don't like them because they get dirty because of the break marks. But like I mentioned.. I wash my G every week, so I make sure to keep them clean looking . I would never drive around with my rims looking blackish or yellowish. Plus, you can't really see the brake marks unless you are really up close to the car. I said it in the other thread, people hate white cus they are LAZY! - just spray some cleaner on them, let stand ..wash off and dry them off, simple! . I LOVE WHITE - all you haters, kiss my bum bum!

3 pairs of tires in a year ..swoosh! But then again, look at the car it's not like it drives like a tractor - with the speeds you can push with the NSX, it's no surprise it can eat up tires like that.

Good thing you're ok - saw the pictures of the accident you were in! Mind you, the NSX looks BETTER after the crash - maybe you were using a better camera.

You have some nice toys .. and what better place to drive them than in beautiful BC . Haven't been there myself .. but have only heard great things. I wish the roads here in Toronto were half as decent as other cities.

Oh and I'm sure many of us would love to see pictures of your G .

Sounds like plenty of fun to me. We have some pretty bad ones here, too!

Got the G back today with KYB AGX shocks. Still have the oem springs untl we can figure out what to do. It handles nicely over smooth pavement but jumps around too much on the highway to be comfortable so I will need to soften them up just a bit for the street. Right now they are set at 2 front and 4 rear.
Merry Christmas to all of you

Pam
