Laugh not, my friend. According to an insider tip, NIRA and SCCA will soon ban participants using Altezza ('Tez' in the underground world) technology on their vehicles due to the unfair advantage they create.

And yes, lighting mods to tend to be overkilled. Altezzas are still public em\nemy #1 in my book, but other culprits are "HID Xenon" (read imitation) bulbs, street glow kits, interior neons, and the blue scrolling LEDs aka Night Rider lights. I myself fell victim to the lure of a Nightrider light to scroll when I turn on my alarm. When I first got it three years ago, I thought I was adding a tasteful and original mod to my car. Now I see them all over the damn place on any variety of busted or riced out vehicle. Still tasteful? I think so on my car. Original? Not any more.

New ideas are always a good thing, its when they fall into the wrong hands that they get a bad rep. But on a positive note, if these lights DO become the next Altezzas, you'll be rich out the ass!!! That is, if you play your cards right.

I've done it... used an LED. I had it a long time ago. Connected it to my dome light so it would only turn on when I unarm my car... so I can see better if I un-arm my car at night. I took it out because I had an accident a while back and didnt want to re-connect it.

Now I think out it, I saw a really crappy lookin blue 5th gen civic coupe with the excat same thing as that, but oppsite...the lights flashed in the door handle like that, but when the car was alarmed instead....it was definatly funny to see, because the car looked like a complete POS, you know, one of those cars that looks so bad it doesn't need an alarm...and then you see that on there...it was comical to see it on that specific car for that reason...lol...no bashing the idea...just saying it was funny as hell to see it on that car...espeically due to the shape the car was in...I mean, it was bad.

Yea, I agree, it does look ricey. It was the whole princple that made it funny on this car. I mean, the car was awful, he could probably leave the keys in it and come back to it....and then he has the LED alarm lights in the door handles...I mean, it was funny as hell, deserved a "rice cop" ticket....however ricey it seems normally, you can double or triple it on that car...lol. Too bad I didn't have a digital camera so I could snap a pic of it and post it. It would have gone great in the "stupidiest thing you ever saw" thread.

LOL....true that.....I don't think I was ready to see that car, lol. It was just plain awful. It's not an image I wanted ingrained into my memory. Heck, no one should have that image in their memory, lol.
