simply remove the bracket from the engine & the alternator SIMPLY drops down.

I'd say start by replacing the alternator & belt. On a scale of 1-10 I'd rate it a 0.5

If you can't figure it out from here, you shouldn't be working on cars - all the info you need ------>http://www.binghamtonlife.com/manual...s/91-23-74.jpg http://www.binghamtonlife.com/manual...s/91-23-81.jpg

Re: alternator belt

Yeah, mine was too, just need lots of good penetrating oil and some extra muscle. Just remember to clean the treads before you reassemble.

success!!

we got the lower alternator nut off through the wheelwell.. it was easy. once we got the alternator free, we took the bracket off... then we took the wheelwell plastic out, and the alternator slid right out through there... it helps having a friend (with extra tools). hehe

probly took us 2 hours to get it all figured out.

Re: alternator belt

There is no need to remove the plastic splash guard. But whatever works for you. Just make sure that the guard is nice and tight or you will be replacing it very soon.

the alternator is spinning again... but a very sticky movement. really stiff too. im gonna price out new (and rebuilt) alternators, might be the best thing to do....

we couldn't get it past the splash gaurd? it blocked the pathway... oh well its out.

thanks again!
