I'm in Osaka now , but I haven't seen them yet. My FD has 403 Hp , hopefully it's enough for them.

Yeah , I got them too. 463 Hp in my FD. Don't race them in the rain , though , AWD gives them the advantage. I saved my boost for the last guy. Back in Tokyo again , saving money til a decent car comes up. Seems like the Skylines aren't the power cars they were in TXR0 , the R34 only has 10 more Hp than me , and about 200 more Kg.

Haven't run the whole C1 Outer in one shot yet. The FD isn't that fast anyway , I've tuned the crap out of it and can barely break 200 mph. I just got access to the Ford GT though , hella expensive but looks like it will walk just about anything rolling

After the 3 No-Losers , all the cities get opened up and you can move around at will. I beat them with the FD , quite handily I might add. You must race all 3 in a row to win this. As soon as you beat one , another will race you.
#1 Don't race them on a rainy day. Their AWD gives them the advantage there.
#2 Don't use your turbo if you can avoid it , til the last guy.
#3 Depending on the car you are using , such as the FD , space the last 2 gears fairly close together. That gives you pretty seamless acceleration to about 180 mph or so , if you have all the engine mods that are available.
#4 When they initially challenge you , quit that race. Go back in , to the same spot you went into the time before. The 1st N-L (of the final 3) should be in front of you. Get close to him , and swerve around him at the last second while blinking the high beams at him. This may take a little practice , but when it works properly , you'll start the race in front of him. Be aware of what lane you are in , and swerve to cut him off if you are not directly in front of him. Keep him behind you. The 2nd guy will be in front of you no matter what , theres no help for that , but usually the 1st race is a freebee. You should be able to outrun him at 1st , at least with the FD. Then block him. Seems like none of the opponents steers too well , they lose it on curves. The final guy is pretty fast , you will 99% likely need the boost for him. Only use the boost to outrun him at first , and then after that only when he gets close. Using boost all the time will just heat the car up and you will definitely lose. I checked him into 2 cars and an exit divider , and that finished him.

Re: Re: Re: what do you all think about Tokyo Xetreme Racer 3?

#1. No, their AWD does not give them the advantage. If I smoke them with an S13 coupe in the rain, and this is my second city, then no.
#2. Its boost, not turbo. You can also boost in a N/A car, all you need is Engine Tune Lvl1 and hold Select throughout the course selection
#3. Stock gear ratios work fine until you beat all three cities the first time around.
#4. Unless its the first few guys, you cant quit.

If it is really that hard for you, go ahead and restart the game, and start in Osaka. They get tuned down (only bosses) to your level (default...stock...) Pick whatever car you like, and try to get as much milage as you can. Once you hit 1242 miles, you hit the jackpot. By then, hopeflly you have 60k, and buy the L6 turbo engine swap. Only then do you need Reinforcement

Tips for early in the game:
-a stock transmission will take you pretty far, no need to tinker with it yet, because you will be getting alot more engine tunes anyhow
-remove your spoiler, you car isnt fast enough to use it anyways
-dont buy reinforcement, waste of cash and deseperately needed weight
-save up and buy only carbon("d-carbon")aero parts, dont waste money on fiberglass("FRP") or urethrane. leave them uncolored, ghetto but saves a few kgs
-keep the wheels to +1 inch max, your car isnt that strong yet...
-DONT BUY ANY NEW CARS, unless you REALLY want it, the car you start with can haul ass all the way till the end. if you must, the fastest stock car is the Pantera, with the NA car boost, it can hit 215 stock, and a little gear tinkering and you can hit 235

later in the game (after engine swap)
-with this new engine swap, you need all the stability you can get, buy a carbon spoiler, and set downforce to 5
-mess around with final gear ratio, you should know how it works(right accel, left top speed)
- +2 inch wheels, S tires
-buy reinforcement, instead of removing weight reduction
-dont buy special or custom cars, unless you have already beaten the wanderer that requires you to have 10mil CP

hmm, thats all i can think of for now

#1 : I'm using the FD. A ton twitchy in the rain and likes to swap ends. I avoid racing in the rain whenever possible.
#2 : Boost , turbo , same thing. The select button raises the boost level , or did you notice that. And I don't care for cheating , so no boosting NA cars for me.
#3 : The FD tops out at a ridiculously low mph , like 155 , if you don't change the gear ratios.
#4 : Did it twice in a row , because the PS2 locked up during the next gangs intro , so I had to do it twice. Yes , you can exit the battle.

And you can't use the cruise feature like you could in Zero to acquire mileage the easy way , I tried that already. Which means you actually have to drive those miles.

Only works with some cars. Other ones have too low a top speed.

Not really "ghetto" , that's the new style. Not bad looking , actually , but yes it has a purpose.

#2. Turbocharger and boost are two different things, unlike some racing games, where turbo means you car shoots forward really fast...boost only comes in if you set it that way, and you have to have an engine tune. some people dont realize that and try it in a stock car...

Milage Trick
1. Win/Lose a race
2. Go to FreeRun, Replay, Save Replay menu
3. Open CD tray, take out CD, close it with no CD
4. Roads should dissapear, select Free Run
5. The game will AutoPilot by itself, gaining your miles
6. Eat/Sleep/Read/stuff, takes a bitchlong time to get to 1242 miles if you are going a whole 60 mph
7. When you hit 1242, put it back in, and let it load for a while. The roads reappear, autopilot turns off, and the miles are all yours.

If it doesnt work for you, you are doing something wrong.
Engine swap own own

Can you mod the engine after you swap it , or is it like Auto-Modellista.

So cool , it's just like TXR0 then , with a minor twist. It used to take about a whole day to get 1200 miles on TXR0 also.

Re: Re: what do you all think about Tokyo Xetreme Racer 3?

Boost level at 3
Engine swaps cannot be tuned, but theyre just generic super engines, like "Turbo L6" or "Turbo V8" They come with a healthy supply of HP, much more thn a Lvl8 engine tuned normal one for sure. So just because you cant tune them, does in no way it means its slow
