I never noticed this before....Is this the same Subaru that runs a 12.9 in the 1000 ft.? And are those V8 Camaro's and Mustangs, from the late 80s or early 90s only? Because if not, it's pretty hard to believe that a 93+ Z28 or a 94+ GT, lost to a car running 14.8(at best) in the quarter.

my racing partner's scooby ran a 13.8 with only a $5 check valve... no other mods.

i've also seen him race side by side with a 1996 Mustang GT... beat him by 4 cars. it's all about traction... and scoobys hook up off the line and keep pulling. usually the higher HP cars have to chase him down... sometimes they get lucky, usually they do not.

as for their "14.8 stock" times... his ran a 14.3 dead stock. the performance numbers are quite conservative for the wrx.

race one sometime... you'll be quite surprised.

I've only seen 1 WRX around here, and I'm sure it would have beat my stock civic.

P.s. Marc-OS do you play Counter strike any?

I've raced a WRX before, wasn't too surprised...I already knew they were quick But his car isn't a WRX. He said it in another post exactly what it is...I believe it's a 2.5 non-turbo RS or somethin like that. I calculated it out and found that his 12.9 1000 ft. time(they don't have any quarter strips around his way), would translate to about a 14.8 second quarter. A 96 GT runs about a 14.2...Which doesn't equate to a 4-car defeat, so I'm guessing driver ability had something to do with the margin of victory in that race.

with almost all WRX's they need to have a good launch to be quick....they can be beaten by anything on the road if the driver doesnt get a good launch..... point is, WRX's have nasty turbo lag.

u gota love the burble from its exhaust when its roaring down the street!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that be true with any car. I mean it always depends on the driver. I beat a 2000 mustang GT before, in MY car

it's actually much worse for a WRX... not because of turbo lag, but because of just regular old engine bogging. the AWD gets such good grip, stock motors arent able to effectively slip the tyres to keep the motor from bogging down.

a little more power to break traction and keep the motor from bogging is what always helps.

hmmm... not much of a classic car buff but i'm pretty sure that Oldsmobile made the 442 not Pontiac. If you're sure it was a Pontiac than it was most likely a GTO, a GTO is a Pontiac Tempest with upgraded suspension, brakes, engine, etc.
