anyone knows how much insurance would cost for a person under 25? i'm also considering getting one of these babies.

i would recommend saving up for a 951 (944turbo)...i'm only 17 and i have a 924S and the acceleration is better than stock 944, but i still want more. plus, there isn't much room for cheap power out of a n/a, but the turbos can easily crank out 400 hp. and they can also run much bigger tires like 275's. a little faster than the civic.

Selling my 951. Btw insurance is like 4400$ a year for me I'm 18 with no points. Oh yea that's like 100,000 coverage shit thingy the most explansive one lol.

My advice is get a 944 turbo(951). As fast as you want it to be, but docile around town. Or you could get a 931, like my brother's. It's reasonably fast, gets good mileage, runs on 92 octane and parts and insurance are so much cheaper than a 944.

im just another ignorant honda driver myself, but my honda experience has led me to ask the question of engine swaps. Would it be possible to put another turbo porsche engine into a non-turbo 944 so as to avoid the high insurance premiums? Or does anyone make any turbo kits for the non-turbo models? I was also looking at mid 80s 944s.

Yeah, it's possible, it's all pretty straight forward work, but the turbo has all sorts of different stuff, like suspension, brakes, tranny(it will probably break). You'd be better off buying a 951.
