goto: http://www.mazdatrix.com/n-1a.htm for replacements you can often times find them used, ebay, junkyard etc. I'm sure those methods would be cheaper.. |

Dayna240sx, i dont think that rotaries last longer than pistons, esp in the older rotaries, because of the way they move, and the older ones had problems with its design, i forgot what it was. but the rotary rubs against the walls harder than piston engines, so you re gonna have to replace that more often, or the reliability isnt gonna be as good. you re more likely gonna need a rebuild for a rotary than a piston engine. im not saying its not reliable, i know if you take care of it well, it ll last, but not like piston engines. |

whats up with newbies acting like moderators all the time? if Brian wants to move it, he will. I am getting sick of people replying to posts saying "this should be moved" If you dont like it, ignor it. Why must you complain all the time. This is the shit that makes me want to leave. |

For the most part, your right, piston engines will last longer. But if you properly care for a rotary, they last a very long time. I've seen a 13b-REW last longer than 200,000 miles. My race car that I beat the hell out of finally died at 187,000 miles. I also had one that was at 230,000 miles, but it was totaled so ran, it just didnt "go". I've also seen websites of them with over 300,000 miles and still running. Rebuilding a rotary is a ton easier than a piston engine also. Taking a rotary out, rebuilding it and putting it back in take about 6-8 hours. A piston engine? You probably have at least 8 hours just rebuilding it. So basicly its all how you take care of it. |

I dont buy the cars new and drive the whole 200,000 or whatever miles. I get the cars with a ton of miles on them. I dont really have time anymore to race my cars, but I used to. Heres a pic of my old race car (died at 187K miles) ![]() edit* Why dont my pics work? I uploaded them on AF's upload site... Can anyone see the pic? All I get is a red X. If not heres the site... http://files.automotiveforums.com/ga...cat=500&page=1 |

this thread is making me miss my rx7. maybe someone wants to trade cars with me. or i should sell my 240 and get another rx7. what do you think i could get for it. its a 91 coupe, 5 spd, with 80k miles, minor dings worn paint, tokico hp shocks, tanabe gf210 springs, 15" se slloys with brand new yoko avs es100's and a set of 17" buddy club p1-2's. every mechanical problem with the car has been addressed. new cat, alternator, starter, and filters and such. new rotors and calipers as well.

I'll sell you any of my rx-7's. The convertible needs work, I dont have time for it, I only bought it because the guy needed bail money. But you could fix it up and make a hefty profit on it. If you have time, it would make a good winter project. The Turbo II is NOT a daily driver and the GTUs needs a new engine (the one it has is definatly not rebuildable)...
