Many people just convert the 2.4 to a 4g63 head and use all turbo 2g parts to turbo it. Should be much cheaper than a kit, but you need to have an idea of what you are doing. People have put sites together on the subject though, the info is out there. People with 4g63s are doing the same thing to, to get a 2.4 liter in the car

i think that if you have a fast car, you modded it to where you can race and have a good feeling of winning, you can rice out your car how ever you want, though i think there are different levels of ricing. a friend of mine just got his first car, he had a black civic mid 90's , he put a tall spoiler on it and put Type R stickers everywhere. it was funny though, because to him he didnt know he looked like a stupid ricer, but he was a cool kid cause he just got his civic and 'supercharged it with stickers'. when i got my 1g gs ,i didnt know much of the gs, rs , and gst, i did go for some bolt ons instead of the high spoiler, i put on the short ram and the exhaust, which imho is better than spending on stupid shit. though i do have some stuff in my car like blue neon under the dash and a blue neon in my subs, it looks nice to me, and didnt cost me that much. so i guess, everyones definition of rice is just has varied has everyones definition has 'normal' .

they gave the N/T spyders a different engine. since it was a bit heavier and needed that extra torque, they gave it the 2.4 4G64

Here's a tale on 'riciness':

Imagine yourself at a light in a '01 Mirage DE Coupe... please don't laugh at my car, it's treated me well!... anyhow, buddy pulls up next to you in a silver Mustang, late 80s model, with black racing stripes, silver tinted windows, and revving his engine like a maniac. On closer inspection you see 5.0L, VTEC and GT-R badges all over the car. You exhale and roll your eyes...

He rolls his window down, points at you, then points forward. You nod.

Light turns green, you screech the tires on your 92hp, 2100 lbs. beast of a Mitsu beating him off the line (crosswalk) and leave buddy behind you by more than a car length by the time you get to the next light. You laugh, not believing what happened and continue on your way.

You stop at the supermarket to do some shopping about a week later, and who should appear? It's buddy with his 5-point-slow. He sees you and asks what's under the hood, "You must have modded that thing out to the max!"

"Nope, stock 1.5L", you reply.

He looks in utter disbelief, then you ask him what he is running. He looks at you funny. "What's under the hood?" you point at his car. He happily pops the hood and proudly displays a 4 cylinder engine with a Pepboys APC cone filter and enough dirt and grease buildup to add another 100 pounds to the car!

What is rice? Rice is trying to pretend your car is something it is not. VTEC Mustangs and 5.0L Hondas... racing stripes do NOT add horsepower... nor do Euro-style tail lights, which most people don't see when you race them because you are LOSING!

The above-mentioned domestic ricer has since debadged his car, though he still sports the racing stripes and tinted windows. Last I saw/heard, he was attempting to swap a V8 into his car.

DISCLAIMER: I have NOTHING against show cars... I don't glorify heavily modified street racers, either... I just like common sense, that's all. Don't pretend you are something you are not... you look stupid when the truth is revealed.
