Having seen the issue first hand as both a bratty little kid,and as a stressed and frustrated parent,I agree that there is a place for physical discipline at parents' discretion.There do,however,need to be clear guidelines as to where the line should be drawn.The days of thrashing children with belts,jugcords,lengths of cane etc. should be consigned to the dustbin of history.A smack on the backside never harmed a child,but a slap around the head should be off-limits completely.
