[quote=mach5p1]Question..........what wires do I cut ?
I just unplugged it at the transfercase. Has been silent for a few years now. Made one "beep beep beep, beep beep beep" a couple weeks ago. The loose connector probably got wet for a minute. 173K miles and still smoking! |

Re: service 4wd switch
I just got my 95 JGC Laredo less than a month ago and immediately it had the service 4wd switch message. So I read everything I could find on the subject and found that it also lets you know if the fluid is low. So I checked my fluid level in the transfer case and sure enough it was low after filling it up I have went 3 days without getting the warning on the VIC. Just glad I checked the fluid before resorting to unplugging the sensor.

Re: service 4wd switch
Thank you for that information. This I was unaware of. I will now be checking that fluid level. Again, thank you.

Re: service 4wd switch
I have found two "switches" on my transfer case. Which one are we talking about?
1994 5.2 L Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited ALL WHEEL DRIVE I crawled under the jeep and found the wire plug located on the transfer case which is underneath the driver side door. I unpluged the connector located on the side of the transfer case. It is a 3 pin connector. After doing so, I started the Jeep and backed out of the garage. When I select 4 Low, my VIC indicates "Low." After shifting back into "4 ALL TIME" the "Low" extinguished from the VIC. Just like it should. Now, I did not do any further drive testing to see if my SERVICE 4WD SWITCH would constantly flash and beep at me like it does so often. There is another "Switch" / Wire Connector on top of the transfer case. I did not unplug this because it is much more difficult to reach and it seemed stuborn to unplug. Which of these two electrical connections should be disconnected in order to disable the "SERVICE 4WD SWITCH" annoying beeps and message? |
