Yes, example you put a turboback on an eclipse and you can get about 20hp and faster spool up

how much hp you get when you put an exhaust on a civic?
like 8 from exhaust and an aditional 2hp if u get headers

very tru, very very true. i think civics (EX-Si) are only for fuel economy, the eclipse (GST-GSX) is only for racing/sport

No, an engine-swapped Eclipse is very rare. Their parts aren't interchangable as are alot of Hondas.

i wouldn't say that they are "rare" but they are uncommon. most people will sell their N/A eclipse and buy a turbo one, instead of having the headache of going through a swap.

eclipse

I just bought my eclipse gst two months ago and made a few mods. Nothing big yet. I hear that running turbo on a daily driver can wear a tear a little easier. I've been around big blocks all my life and not a lot of wear and tear gets to them. Its also all steel, puts out a lot more hp, and can withstand wear and tear. I would flip a coin on the eclipse and civic.

One advantage is an engine ready for turbo use, unlike the civic... no big mods have to be made to upgrade the turbo.

how long do eclipse motors 95-99 usually last? Of course this is if it has been taken care of.

Can you buy a new engine for an eclipse(a stock one) for cheap?

If token well care of ie. oil changes on time, flushes, blah, blah, blah, just as long as any car.
Oh, & www.ebay.com & www.dsmtrader.com are the best resourses for finding engines. Will a new one be cheap...I have no idea. Do they still produce the dsm 4g63?

so what kind of power is the eclipse RS putting to the wheels stock, and is it a pain in the ass to put an aftermarket turbo on it? and is that even really a good idea? if i get a gst or a gsx, my insurance is going to go through the roof.

Re: eclipse

About 115hp to the wheels. Oh, & as far as turboing one, it's not any more difficult than turboing any other car but to run more than like 8psi, you'll need upgraded everything...
