i know its been said, but it needs to be said again, why would you even consider dramatically lowering your hp an increasing the weight by swapping a honda p.o.s. The rotary is gods own creation, sent down from heaven as a gift to all men (those smart enough to use it). The 20b swap is a great idea, or even a 13g (if you could actually find one). Im totally going for it next summer, when I buy my FD. Cylinders are shit compared to rotary.

I fail to see why you people never cease to logically answer these types of people.
I would much rather see those people tow their 72 Pinto up to a performance tuning shop and say "How much to put WRX EJ20 in here?"

First it's VTEC
Second, you would have known that if you had the motor on hand, since most VTEC engines say VTEC right on the valve cover.
Third, $3000 for the motor are you just plain stupid? For $3000 that better be a fully built, turbocharged, B18C5 (Integra Type-R) motor with transmission and ECU.

I know this guy isn't even reading this post anymore, but it just pisses me off.

I have a few sick ideas.

He should take his V-tech engine to be rebuilt at a boat shop so they could spin it backwards for him and save himself some cash in parts. He's going to have it rebuilt anyways.

If I rake in the cash this year I'm thinking about putting a 20B 13B in a Noble. What do you think it'd pull in the 1/4 Mile let alone the 0-60?

Does this put me in the Sik FUq catagory? Don't worry I'm not going to try to spin any 20B backwards.

Re: can you put honda vetech engine into 89-93 rx7?

1. It's VTEC (Variable Timing Electronic Control)
2. RX-7 = RWD, VTEC = FWD
3. RX-7 > Honda
4. RX-7 > Honda
5. RX-7 > Honda
6. RX-7 > Honda
7. RX-7 > Honda

Trust me...I drive a Civic Ex VTEC...RX-7's are my dream cars...you DON'T want a Honda engine in that beautiful machine...

And to the other guy who corrected him about VTEC...not all VTEC engines say 'VTEC' on the valve covers...I have a D16Z6 SOHC VTEC engine in my Civic and it just says Honda on it...only the B16+ say VTEC on them...

So yeah...you don't want a VTEC in ur RX-7 unless its at least a B18 or better...actually I changed my mind...YOU DO NOT WANT TO SWAP A VTEC IN THE RX-7

(stressed enough?)

Re: can you put honda vetech engine into 89-93 rx7?

unless you've fucked up your head so much...

good swaps when you fuck up your wankel

1) 20B pwr
2) LS1 (domestic)
3) drop a supraTT in there

If you INSIST on Hon-duh pwr, i suggest
1) if it can fit, try a turbocharged NSX motor (i forgot the engine code C32 or somethin?)
2) or if you can't fit a NSX (highly unlikely if you can fit a supra eninge in there), try 16lbs of boost on a F20 S2000 motor.

anyway, go with the 20b. trust us.

Re: can you put honda vetech engine into 89-93 rx7?

keep it running on rotors, don't put in a LS1 or supra TT(2jz gte). the rotary engine is so much better, this should never even have been a question

This is an old old thread, and the starter isn't even reading it anymore, it's just taking up space so we should stop posting on it.
