Valve cover painting
Did some painting on my valve cover recently but used a little different approach.
1. Cleaned, sanded and scuffed the surface of the valve cover. 2. Sanded the HONDA from 300 to 800 sand paper. 3. Taped off holes and area around oil cap. Found out from a friends valve cover that the paint will chip eventually if the valve cap keeps getting tightened onto the paint. 4. Used a very light powder coat first then immediately followed up with a heavier coat and so forth. 5. Resanded the Honda to remove the paint. 6. Clear coated the valve cover. That's about it. Can check how mine turned out at http://members.cardomain.com/98civicrider The valve cover pictures are on page 2. |

how the crap did you paint them white? I painted my old D16 cover white and wanted to do the lettering blue but couldn't think of any way to do a good job getting inside the holes in the letters like "A" (the a-hole hahaha)...

unscrew them, scrape off the rust with a wire brush or something, paint them too, and they screw right back in... they're just bolts man. |
