i dunno but waht i'm askin is stock max speed, in respect to the other japanese super car's max speed, cause 320kmh is very very fast thats dodge viper and ferrari league. and 360kmh forget about it, i've never seen a tuned skyline go that fast before. the fastest skyline that i've read about is the Veilside R34 which has 1360 hp and its max is only 217mph which is around 8mph slower then 360kmh.

Now I'm not 100% sure on this, but the number I keep hearing for max speed on a stock GTR, r34 that is, is 190 MPH give or take a few. I've seen several sights that have 200 MPH+ GTRs on them. I don't think that the 200 mark is the hard one, its the 210. Now bear in mind I'm not an expert so don't take my word as the word of god or anything
It would kind of make sense to me though if you look at the gear ratios and what RPM you would be running at the end of each gear. To break 210 you would have to do some transmition adjustment and drivetrain work too. (I'm guessing :P) Any one feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm very very sure that SKYLINE max speed is 200 mph
cause I know a Japanies guy who has R34 and it goes 320 km/h and he showed me a pic of it

well as much as i love the skyline, there is no way that i can be faster then a ferrari 360. or a porche 911 turbo gt1. from 200mph on, thats lambourgini league or the Zonda C12. those things are monsters~!! and i don' think the skyline's aerodynamic would allow it to go that fast, esp with its factory horsepower. i mean lets say its 328hp caus ei think it really is that much, its not enough to power a car that weight with that kind of aerodynamics go hit that kind of speed. the speed that i normally see on a stock skyline ranges from 155 to 165. that is a very realisic number for that car. and 165 definitly is not slow. a integra type R can around 135.

hi fellas
320kph (200 mph) from a standard GEARED gtr is impossible. my 1995 gtr r33 has 400 flywheel horsepower and will max out at an indicated 302 kph. my gearing is standard. i dunno what revs this was at but there werent many revs left available. my tyres are also 255 40 17 which have a slightly smaller diameter which means that the true speed is actually slightly less. also factor in speedo error. adam 320kph with std. gearbox is bullshit. |

well it must be a heavily modified one then, cause 200mph is super car league. even the porches GT3 can't go that fast. it top speed is only 183mph. how can a less powerful and lighter skyline gt-r go that fast? it doesn't make sense. and a dodge viper, you get a massive 8.4 liter V10 makin around 450 hp and it can go 185mph. sooo you know?

Its compleatly true that a standard geared GTR cant possibly go 200mph, all I'm saying is that there are quite a few out there that have broken the 205 range and some that push 211 and 212. Some of the most recognizable being the Veilside and the Blitz skyline. The thing of it is, I don't know exactialy what has to be done to push it into that range, obviously the gear ratio must be streached out, and some serious torque must have been added because the Veilside skyline got up to 211 in 1.3 miles I beleave. Of course it was also a 1000+ hp car

Look all I'm saying is that SKYLINE can go over 200 mph
specially R34 put no body did that t'll now and when I said it can go 200 mph I ment when it's modded but when I said (modded or not) I ment the gear ratio

Here is some "No sh*t" true information. The R32 is geared to top at 260-290kph. This is
simple linear math. 120kph at 3500 RPM, 140 kph at somewhere between 4050 and 4100. That's about as accurate as I can get with my speedometer. That would be between 160 and 180 MPH. That's assuming you can overcome the wind resistance with available HP...the weight of the car doesn't have much to do with it...but a little (unless you start to lose tire friction)... it's all about the aerodynamics... Since I didn't put my car in a wind tunnel...I can't give you those figures. I can give you this....prior to getting work done on my R32, 180 kph was the max speed.... it's electronically limited...all current family GTR's (R32,R33,R34) are limited in this way. So NO....a stock R34 cannot hit 200. An R34 is geared for 320kph....but would obviously have to go through some engine work to hit 200. On another note...a friend with an R33 (same engine, same drivetrain) dynoed at the wheels a 393HP on HKS intakes, a boost controller, and HKS Super Drager Exhaust. That's all he had on it. Torque was in the 370's. That's enough to push you to 180-190. The F40 tops out at 202 with a 478HP 2.9L (about 415 to the wheels) The F50 (at 3000lbs) tops out at 202 with a 513HP 4.7L (about 460 to the wheels) Top speeds.... They had a top speed drag competition in Germany in October.... TK brought a Supra that topped at 224.7 mph HKS brought a Skyline that hit 221.4 mph ...the beauty of it is they were actual cars that were modified. Not a molded body thrown over some engine work....and they used a base block from both vehicles. |
