RS is not a 1.8 on the 2G. The RS has the 420A. And for the uneducated , the Spyder also has the 2.0 (4G63T) turbo available. Lets break it down: RS = 420A GS = 420A GST = 4G63 T Spyder GS = 2.4 (4G64) Spyder GS-T = 4G63T GSX = 4G63T ALL non-turbo's in the 2G style got the 420A , the ONLY exception being the spyder. Before you start spouting statistics , especially when the rest of us know better , and before you embarass yourself with incorrect knowledge , I would suggest a visit to your local DSM club's website and look in the 1000 AAQ's ............... It'll save you further embarassment from people like me having to correct you , and then doing this........

The 1.8L SOHC was only in the 1G RS. The 2G RS has the same 420A 2.0 L engine as the GS... The difference in the two is, options, and suspension. The GS has sway bars and such, which the RS lacks. The GS handles much better.

Re: Rs? Gs?

and i am running about 21psi on a good day with race gas... and i'm pushing around 325-350hp (havent had the chance to dyno it since the engine has been done so its just an estimate) although everything in my engine and on the engine has been replaced! so the concept of putting a 20g on a 420a motor is that you better be prepared to replace everthing on the motor or your gunna blow the piss out of it... and you'll have terrible turbo lag if your only running it at about 7-10psi!!! plus let alone its just plain stupid.

Why did you get such a big turbo? You can run 21psi on a smaller, and cheaper turbo.

depends on what you plan on running for boost, i would probably suggest the T25 or the 14b if your gunna stick with stock internals which you wouldnt want to run anymore than 10psi... if your gunna replace your internals, i would probably go with the T28 or the 16g, cause they spool pretty quickly and they can produce good boost with the right mods done to the engine.

Re: Rs? Gs?
Where could i get one of the ones without purchusing internal parts and how much would it cost me. would it be easy to install too?

you could get the turbo off of ebay fairly cheap, probably about 100-200 for a 14b or a t25, its not easy to install, you will need new injectors, new fuel pump, MAS, oil lines, SMIC or FMIC, IC piping, turbo exhaust manifold for the 420a, turbo back exhaust, new head bolts, BOV WG, Boost controller (AVC-R is what i would suggest), and a oil pan off of a 4g63 turbo engine... there are some other little things that you will need but thats all i can think of off the top of my head... if you know what you are doing and you know the engine well it will probably take you 3-4 weeks depending on how long you work on it each day, if you work on it all day everyday you could most likly get it done in about a week and a half to 2 weeks. good luck

Re: Rs? Gs?
You can get a reasonable kit from star. It's a t3/t4 hybrid and comes with an intercooler. It will run you about 2800. You can only run about 7 or 8 psi safely though. So you're better off just goin for the gst
