My car is a little closer to a Silvia than most of yours, but it's still not one. There are a few grey import Silvias around imported directly from Japan, and there are noticable differences.

Although mine's close to one, it's still not one, so I'll continue to call it a 200SX.

Doesn't matter...

The way I see it is if they look the same, damn near drive the same, are only seperated my "minor" details... then they are the same.

RHD, LHD, NO BIG DIFFERENCE... just where you sitting... I would rather use my good hand rather than my naturally weak hand to shift any fucking way... the only reason people even care for RHD is because its different. So there is no real difference. Besides the engine.

just a noob question but when a car is RHD do the gears transpose on the stick shift. So 1st and 2nd gear would still be closer to you assuming reverse would be the farthest away? that would be an intersting change.

Gears are the same, pedals in the same locations.

so first is all the way over and reverse is right next to you .... wow i would have expected different but i guess that makes conversion a little easier. thanks for the info.

Yep, they would have to change the gearboxes from RHD to LHD when producing them. It's just easier to make one pattern and go with it.

jdm S chassis are different in USDM ones in many ways besides engine and Drive side....... I hear they have a different tuned suspension for a different ride, they have different brakes(nothing spectacular but they are a tiny bit bigger up front), etc etc....

It is not the same exact car with a different engine and some diff badges...

and take your 240sx and putting on that engine and badges still doesn't make it what it is. YOU OWN A 240SX BE PROUD.....

how many of you goto Japan? Speak Japanese? or even take your car to Japan?

we do you insist on copying something from another country? And its not cause u like it, cause if you liked the car, you would be going off about your 240sx, not your Silvia... some of you are just stuck in this JDM trend that is BS.

It has now transitioned into parts, engines, then badges, seats, wheels, and now we have to call our cars JDM names?!??! F that shit

you know people if you liked your car you would be proud of what you owned. YOU WOULD YELL HEY I OWN A 240SX AND YOU CAN EAT MY SHIT! lol..... these other people that just all em other names and want other badges, they are just bandwagon jumpers and shit

im an enthusiast.... If at all possible Id have a 240sx in 5 years from now still no doubt, a 1992 240sx in 2010 haha
and to think people thought we would have flying cars.

and also about newbies in rwd cars... that is so true... I've been driving a FWD auto for around 2 years now and Im still learning how to drive better EVERY day. if I look back no WAY could I have taken a 240sx my first year driving and tried doing some drifting, I woulda killed myself. hahah.. and I did get in a couple accidents even in my fwd piece. I am a lil crazy but thats besides the point. There are even people more worse then me at that kinda stuff. Atleast i take consideration of other drivers into my balls to the wall driving.

hmmm. lemme see..
#1) i dun care if its JDM or not. if there is no USDM model of the same car, then i will care, but in the 240's case, i dun care one bit if its JDM or USDM

#2) why is there such a big deal around JDM. i dunno about u, but i would like the gears i use the most to be closest to me, and there are a bunch of things i just dont understand about JDM and why its so tyte. there is enuff on the market for us to enjoy what we have for now. a little JDM here and there is fine, but too much JDM is basically paying a second time transform a car into one that is made available STOCK in japan.. i wouldnt wanna do that.

#3) read #1,2,3.

I wouldnt worry about the ricers to much ... the 240sx yea is getting a little more popular because of super street and import tuna but who cares think about how hard it is to get most of the knowledge and parts and there cost compared to a civic that is dime a dozen ... most kids are ricers and most kids are basically broke or at least to broke to buy real parts...so they get a wak ass intake and bazooka for a muffler < because the coffee can look is SO yesterday> and call there civic JDM dont sweat it if your stressed about the car scene id love to live your life if thats your biggest problem because I could care less what other people drive or how they drive trendy or not ... anyways keep smilin and peep the technique
