Hehe. I did a 4 hour intensive workout on Saturday. If that counts for anything. I can also now easily do 60 pushups in less than 40 seconds.

My Biceps and Triceps are still hurting today. I sorta lost count of what I was doing, so I'd do like 14 sets (12 reps per set) of something and then eventually move on.

How do you manage that??? I only do 3 sets of 15 reps per exercise and that totally burns!!!

But surely that means that the weight is too light if you can manage those high reps (at least that's what our trainer told us).

Im talking push ups and chin ups and stuff like that.

Im to slack to go to the gym (even though I can get in for free )

I think putting on weight just so Pushups were more effective would be pretty pointless

5:30 I used to get up real early every day, but the last yr or so, I really cant get up early anymore.

Getting up that early violates my commandments. (im out of time, but will explain lator)

Congrats on being able to have the willpower to actually go through with it. I really need to start working out, im just so lazy tho.

Alex n I went and checked out that Bally's earlier tonight. HUGE thumbs down. I asked them about that 90 day thing under my mom's membership and the guy we talked to looked at me like I fell off the turnip truck. He first started our tour by bashing other local health clubs, LA Fitness is their big competitor. He was going off about how all their equipment was the best and LA Fitness couldn't beat anything they had to offer, blah blah blah. When I asked him for prices, etc. he asked how much we were willing to put down. We also told him we don't wanna be under a 3 year contract because what if something happens (i.e. illness, unemployment, accident/health problem) then we would be stuck paying for 3 years. We asked about a month to month deal and he said we were only setting ourselves up for failure which I thought was a load of crap. He was very negative, unprofessional, arrogant...I can keep going on n on. All he wanted was our $$ and his commission.

Afterward we went over the LA Fitness. The guy who took us on a tour there was a lot friendlier and didn't put on the pressure like the Bally's prick. This place was cleaner, better lit, more open, and the overall atmosphere there was a lot better. And the prices are sooooo much better....plus we can do the month-month membership.

Needless to say we will most definitely be joining LA Fitness at the end of the week...and most likely starting regular work outs Monday nite of next week

Now it's time to call the manager of the other place and rub it in that he sucks

Funny you should say that....I was telling my mom about it this morning and she was shocked. She literally got red carpet treatment when she went in and signed up and they even gave her a personal trainer for a year. So next time she goes in she's gonna talk to her trainer and tell him what happened.

The guy who treated us like this was a younger jock who had that "i look good and know it" attitude. I can't stand that :rocket:

I hate that too. Some people who are gym members (guys and girls alike!) can be so up themselves. They spend half their time staring at their reflection in the mirror instead of actually working out! I hate people like that!

I know that when I was looking at the gyms back home this summer I went and toured every one in town, and perhaps my biggest interest was how they treated me, and how they discussed other gyms. I went to the most popular sports club in town and found the employees to be very non-chalant...if you want to join, fine, if you don't, it doesn't matter to us. They were far too smug with their pockets overflowing with cash. And the large 'shrine' to a local football hero, who also happned to be the owner of the gym was quite a turn off as well..

So I headed across town to the local racquetball club and I got the five star treatment. I'll admit...I'm a tough customer and I interviewed the hell out of these guys, but they stood up to the challenge. The other members turned out to be really friendly as well.

Hmm...I miss my racquetball club.

My idea of a work out is figure skating HARD for about an hour/2 hours straight... I just did it last night, and boy did it feel good! I still have half my jumps and spins from 2 years ago!!!
