whats the recommended shift rpm to save gas? If you shift at 2000rpm instead of 3000rpm, will it save more gas?
Im curious because i shift at 3000rpm all the time and it seems to save a lot of gas.

If you shift to low, then the engine has to work harder in the next gear = mor gas usuage. Its a 4-banger why are you worried about saving gas?

whats 475KM in miles?
Shift no higher than 4,000rpm for "normal street driving"
Bounce of the rev-limter when racing!

475km = 764miles. Ok so shift between 3000 and 4000rpm to get optimal gas milage, yeh when racing redline

764miles / 11.9 gallons = 64mpg - I dont think so.
475km / 9.9L = 48 lpkm

I'm pretty much the same as some of the posts above...
Daily drive - I shift @ around 3500 RPM's...
Street Race - I'm guessing around 6-7ooo RPM's...
I try not to get crazy on the streets...I know while on the track/strip...
I shift around an est. 7000 RPM...what ever red line is...sorry to not know the exact number but it's late...

When i'm driving to work or just in traffic or on the highway or what not I usually shift at around 3 grand, but my hondata shift light is set at 9300 RPM's
