The 20g is still a quick spooler...not much slower than the 16g I replaced.

so if the 20g seem so much better then the 16g, it makes more hp and spools the same if not quicker.. then why do people sill buy 16g's?
is it because the 20g takes more modification to fit then the 16g's? thanks 1

They are both direct bolt ons, but a 20g requires more supporting mods. I wish I would have skipped the 16g personally, though I did have fun with it.

by supporting mods you mean:
fmic intake exhaust 550 or better injectors upgrade fuel pump b.o.v. s-afc or sumthing like that. upgraded plugs and wires is there anything else?

The 16g will benefit from all of the same mods above as a 20g will. The main difference is the expensive external WG. You can use an internal on a 20g, but there are very people who can really make it work. Even a 16g with a 34mm flapper WILL blow open. On my SBR 50 trim with 39mm flapper, forget about it. You need a very large actuator to have any chance of making it work. And most people arent comfortable with thier lowest boost being 19 psi. Even though on a 20g or larger you can run 19 psi all day. In fact on my setup I had no trouble running 25 psi daily. OTherwise its the same mod list as one would want for maxing out a 16g.

You can run crazy low boost on an external, but why would you want to?

Friends dont let friends run 20Gs at 10 psi. I cant let that happen
Get a 16g if those are your goals. 10 psi is absurd. A 20g hasnt even entered its efficiency range yet at that low boost. If a motor can withstand repeated runs at 30 psi, why run it at 10? 15 is more reasonable but still a waste of a 20g. But to answer your question, with a 20g the only way you'll ever get boost that low is with an external. And you would naturally have to request a 10 pound spring.

but running higher then 18psi daily wont ware your motor down alot?
that is what im worring about. if i do run 18psi everyday on a big 20g what will happen to my motor. considering that i run stock internalls.? but you are right "Friends dont let friends run 20Gs at 10 psi" 1

I run 20-23 psi daily on stock internals. Except when my IC pipe blows off (ghetto rigged SMIC LICP)...then I run 0

but what are the long terms affects off running that much boost on your motor, wont it casue added stress on the motor? and cause things to ware faster?

Its not like the gauge is pegged at 20psi the whole time. This is what I think you are overlooking. I don't fully spool the thing every time I take off or anything, just when neccessary, or when I feel like it. You can keep the boost where you want it with a little gas pedal control. I usually keep it under 10psi the majority of the time. This is more than enough to get me into the flow of traffic.

i gotcha ya now!
light foot saves motor.. yes i was forgeting that if you have your boost set to a cretian psi doesnt mean that you constantly make that psi... thanks for explaining that! 1
