Never. I'm gonna keep it fairly stock, otherwise I'll throw my classing for auto-X. I might swap to an EX motor down the line, but swapping to B16 or anything like that will put me in a prepared class which will have me running against RX7's and Z06 Vettes. I gotta keep it OG in STS class. Plus it's a hell lot easier to drive auto since you need 2 hands on the wheel at pretty much most times. I'l probably get a 3k stall Level10 T/C for the tranny just to allow for some better gear hold times and such, but that's about it. Remember autoX is suspension and brake oriented, all else is rather irrelivant. I just need some increased low end pickup, but a Civic is gonna bog in that department whether manual or auto. That's something you gotta change with the motor itself.

Gear Ratios have a huge part to do with low end also. Auto or Manual. The Auto trannies on honda's have a shitty gear ratio. Even if you swap a manual will they change your class?

Unfortunetly, probably so. The car has to remain with one single trim drivetrain, can't mix and match EX to DX stuff, although tranny might be exemp as it's the same manual used whether EX or DX. But an example of how weird the rules are, if I want to run an after market header and change my exhaust to EX format, or do a mini-me VTEC swap, or swap out my intake manifold for an EX one, it'll throw me into prepared class, but to STAY in STS class, I'd have to swap out my ENTIRE motor for an EX one to keep all the drivetrain stock as it comes from the factory.
