Thanks again fellas.

We've got another cat and only had Tiger in Lansing while we find another house (Jade was very dominate at the Condo and we felt she wouldn't be quite as bad at a brand new place). Now that she's gone, we probably will get another kitten when we find the new place. Guess we'll be a multi cat family again.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Take comfort in knowing your kitty had a good life with your and your wife I may be in this position soon with my 18 year old Cockatiel (bird) that I raised from a baby. She cant grasp with her feet too well and has a hard time perching and getting around the cage. She also has a big lump just above her tail. The vet said as long as she's eating and whistling to let her enjoy her time.

Yogs - a small suggestion. Get a cat slightly older than a kitten (1 or 2yo) because you're existing cat will be insanely jealous, especially of a baby kitten and there is a good chance that the kitten could die. How do I know? Experience. And last time around, we got a 5yo for our 4yo and they were playing nicely after about 1.5 weeks.

sorry to hear about your loss Yogs, be happy to know it died peacefully and not under a truck.

Oz: my cats are quite the opposite, when my sister moved back in and brought her 7 month old cat, Lucas, with her, my 12 year old cat, Mittens, ignores him. Lucas however takes great pleasure in chasing and swatting Mittens.

Kat - sorry to hear about the condition of your Cockatiel. Those are cool little birds =)

Sean - my folks used to have a cat named Mittens too. It was a laid back cat.

Oz - I'll keep that in mind. Jade can be teritorial and I'd hate to see her traumatize (or worse) a little kitten.

I'm very sorry to hear about the kitty. Your emotion is proof of the fact that you were and are a good pet-owner. I'm sure all of your pets enjoyed and continue to enjoy living with you.

Thanks Yogs She's doing a little better today. Last night I bought some smaller perches and trimmed her nails to help her walk a bit easier. She still whistles and kicks the other cockatiel's butt when he gets too close (he's 4).

It's been a few days, how are you and the wife doing? My lab/dobie mix left me 5 years ago (peacefully) but I still miss her like it happened a week ago

Well, I hope she keeps feeling better We're doing ok. That cat will be remembered as long as we're both alive - which is the markings of an awsome pet
