Angry

The words of the naive, there is no way you can tell. But you don't have to make it sound like Gn's are dogs!

They have street-legal 7-8-9 second GNs. Even the "slower" GNs, at 10sec to 12sec(barely modded) can beat PLENTY of Vipers.

the GNXs were the fastest produtcion car of there time (1/4 mile) i believe they ran mid to high 13s. a friend of mine got a GN from his uncle that passed away and with $1500 in mods hes running mid to high 11s on street tires. if you put the same amount of money as it would cost you to buy a viper the GN would destroy the viper. figure $40,000 for a used and great condition turbo GN plus another $30,000 in mods and still have $10,00 left over. youd be running 9s street leagl easily.

Please, I've got three GN's, best bang for the buck, PERIOD! I've put roughly $30,000 into my 85 GN (took out the hot-air set-up and put in an intercooled 87) over $15,000 of that is in the motor. Audi&Benz, it is very possible to whip a Viper, I did it when I still had the stock intercooler and turbo. You guys are right though watching a video is not the same as being there, the look on their face is priceless. Now I've got a front mount IC and a 70mm turbo along with a Speed-Pro Bank to Bank computer and a few other things. No, it's not just a straight line car, it's had suspension upgrades too. This same set-up ran 10.90's in an 86 camaro with 1.45 60' times, with the original 2004R transmission (built by Bruce Toelle, Performance Trans in Sacramento, Thanks Bruce) Too many people like your self underestimate the power of the dark side. I'm hoping that's what the guy driving the Viper through my neighborhood thinks too. One of these times I'm gonna see him when I'm in my car instead of from my front window. This guy actually has huge 69 stickers on his doors and a loud ass fart can for an exhaust. I think he stole it from a h#@*a.

know this thread is old...but i'll post JUST to irritate the mods...

for the person who doesn't believe the viper could lose, i'll take pictures at my buddy's uncles' house who is one of the "slower" GN's in his group.

he can only run the good ol' 1/4 in 10.8 seconds at 1700 FT above sea level...such slow cars.........
