Re: Henri Toivonen tribute build

Thank you Phil! Those transparent blue fuses are actually made from a CD cover. I noticed that the edge of the lid has square profile, so I just cut a piece from it and only had to sand one side. Than I painted them transparent blue, placed them over baremetal foil so they reflect the transparency. I also had some progress on the other parts of the interior. Still missing the intercom and the copilot's reading light. Hopefully tomorrow I can put together the chassis and the body...

Impressive result so far, without the use of any transkit

Do you have that Hobby Design Wheel reference ?

Re: Henri Toivonen tribute build

Thank you guys. The wheel is HD03-0327 16" SSR Formula Mesh wheel center part put in the original Tamiya rear rim. The seatbelt is Eduard 24012 Sparco converted to Sabelt. I did not have the Sabelt version which is the proper one for this car, the no.24016.

Re: Henri Toivonen tribute build

Thank you guys! I am trying to do my best on this build since - as Phil said - was one of the nicest rally car and it was driven by - from my view - the best driver ever. I finished the interior today and glued the glasses with 5 min. epoxy glue. For the "weathering" of the interior, I use the "hairspray technique", I spray the chassis with Tamiya TS30 Silver Leaf as a base, than spray my wife's current hairspray (I say current because it really does not matter which brand) than I spray it with semi gloss black (Humbrol 85 or Tamiya TS29). After it dries, you can chip away the paint with an X-acto or a simple toothpick. I think it is more realistic than drybrusing the silver over the black.

Re: Henri Toivonen tribute build

very, very nice.

so can you tell me, what's that underlay (i See a 205 Evo 2, and there is Lancia 037 written on it, et cetera) you are using?
