So you're saying the visibility is no better than stock or no better than your average xenon bulb? I don't have foglights, so I don't really know how bright the average H1 is. But brightness is going to vary from brand to brand regargless. If I buy some PIAA H1's they will of course be brighter than AutoZone Brand X. Juno what I mean mayne?

I bought CATZ H1's and they aren't much brighter than normal H1's, just bluer. They are nowhere near as bright as the stock civic lights. H1's are the smallest automotive bulbs you can buy for headlights, they're the shittiest of the shittiest. If you like the blue halos then they're worth it, but don't look to brighten up the road any at night...

Unhappy

DAMN! Another factor to consider. But I am still confused as to how they could be that much dimmer. I do understand that the bulb itself is smaller, but (according to product packaging details) the majority of H1 bulbs put out 100 watts. My lights I have now put out 80 watts for the regs and 100 for my brights! And my lights (although not the brightest) are pretty good. Is it the wasy the light is diffused through the projectors that causes the poor visibility?

I know no one here is an electrotechnician, but if anybody can help explain, I would like to know before I make a $250+ investment.

Like I said man, halos=cool, functionality=zero. Plus to adjust the lights you have to move the whole housing around, it's a pain. It could be the thick plastic housing diffusing the light, I don't know... but still H1 bulbs are tiny and don't fill the road with light as much as a nice juicy H4 (stock civic bulb).

So what is this I hear about using HID in the projector housing. Or something like that. Maybe I could just live with the burden of H1 for now and install HID later???

I dunno. I don't think I like that plan myself. I'm such a confused guy.

I don't know how much of a gain you could get with a CATZ Zeta kit on an H1, but I know they beef up H4's so much they look like brights, and the beam still points down. If I could go back in time I would buy some ctr housings instead, or tear mine apart and spraypaint the chrome black to make a ctr look-alike.

It brightens the headlights. Think of it as an amp to a speaker.

You only have one halo on each housing? The normal headlight doesn't have one, but it's an H4 so maybe that has something to do with it... heat maybe?

Thanks for the pics Emerge. Thosa are actually the ones I saw before that made me love the Halos so much. When I did a search on yahoo for "angel eyes projectors", that thread was like 4th on the list of choices.

But pictures never really do justice as far as lighting is concerned imo. In normal pictures, lights are deceivingly dim, and in magazine pictures (the ones selling headlights and HID kits) the light is usually brightened a bit.

I guess I'll have to find out for myself. This could be a learning lesson coming up!

I finally got my direct deposit put through today, so I'm about to order the lights from Aspec this afternoon.

Also, I found a lot of PIAA H1 100 and 110 watt bulbs for cheap on ebay. about $40 - $50 And for those who don't know, that IS cheap for PIAA bulbs But I'll see what the bulbs that come with are like before I order those.

Get some nice HID's man, you'll be sooo much happier because they actually light up the road, and look cool in the daytime if you get the right pair, some look like ass. HID's cost about the same or a little bit more, but are worth it imo.

The majority of HID kits I've seen are like $400+? Am I not finding the right deals? Maybe I'll look on ebay. That place is great! Unless you're trying to find Halos for a 2000 Accord

I paid $300 for my halos new, and for an extra $100 it's worth it for HID's. I don't buy used crap for my ride, so I don't know how much they're going for on ebay.
