I know i'm not the world's greatest driver, and the fact that i'm on normal street tires MIGHT have something to do with it.......hhhmmmmm. It's has a shift kit....5 speed auto with primary and secondary overdrive. I've tried shifting through the gears, and i've tried leaving it in drive and mashing it....only a lil bit'o difference in times. Either way, i burn my tires for a good 300-400FT......funny, even in an auto i get a 4th gear scratch

(In reference to my 300ZX, NOT my tib)

Try putting a set of DRs or slicks on the back and keep it out of OD... 3rd gear. im sure you know how to flash your converter so im not going to tell you about that.

Hyundai is a budget car company, based for people who dont have a lot of money, but want a new car with SOME speed. I am highly doubting your I4 beat a Z3 or stang. Also, i want to know what kind of Accords youve raced. Id looooove to race you. V6 6-spd coupe. You wouldn't stand a chance, unless youre fantasy kill stories have truth to them.

I've raced one newer accord on the highway. I don't know what year model it was or if it was an auto/manual, but it had stock dual exhuast. From a 60mph roll, i pulled on him untill 90mph then we pretty much stayed the same distance apart 1-1 1/2 carlengths ahead of him untill we shut down around 115mph(i didn't pull anymore, and he didn't gain anymore). ALSO.....i never said i beat a new GT stang in a full fledged race....i said i beat him on the take off, and the 60ft., then he caught me, and we stayed even. It was a Mustang GT "bullet" or "billet" i have no clue what that is. Thats the only one i've ever seen so i don't know it power ratings etc. ALSO, my profile doesn't list all my mods, just some of them. Like a magician says, it's always good to leave a little mystery. All i'll say is that i don't have pussy juice (NOS). There's lots of things you can do to a tiburon. Hell, I've seen a 10sec. Tib that was AWD that had 2 engines one in front one in back and both were turbocharged. OH, and get this, it ran 10's on street tires AND it was an automatic. It's rare that you see a 600+hp tiburon, but they do exsist. Bring yourself to Ft. Hood, TX. The MP's allow 1 legal street-race night a month, then we can see how your Accord fares...you might beat me, you might not, but the whole point of racing is to have fun and watch fast cars go fast isn't it? Like i said i haven't lost to a Honda yet, but there's always some1 somewhere faster....i just ain't met'em yet. And the Z3 i raced got royally spanked. He was an older man 40-50yrs old, and he was amazed that i beat him. We pulled over at a gas station and BS'd a bit, about cars, and the military (i'm active and he's retired). He couldn't believe it was a hyundai, but most people can't either. Oh well, i'm sure ya'll think i'm full of psychobabble, but thats cool, this board is for conversating, and debating, so i guess we're fulfilling it's purpose. I enjoy every1's feed back even if you do call B.S. i know the truth and thats all that matters, but like i said, a lil friendly debating is fun. My wife and I are just settling into a new house, and once we see how much money we have to play with after bills, i'll try to invest in a digital camera to help quench your thirst for some valid proof.

You just dug urself a hole man. So hyundai needs 2 engines WITH TURBO that uses JET FUEL to run about 600bhp.
I saw that car on a compact sport magazine and I just laughed. ANYONE can do that with 2 engines with turbo if you have $. That's cheating especially if its not running on gasoline. I find this hilarious.

600BHP is your average modded supra on ONE ENGINE and ONE TURBO that uses GASOLINE on STOCK automatic. Hell Why don't we put 2 JZ engines and run like 1300bhp on gasoline, oh wait maybe you can get it close to 1000bhp with a single engine supra so maybe we don't need that.

It's cool discussing these things with you since you are being somewhat mature compare to that chrometib, but I am kinda disappointed in that reply.

i can settle all this right now, i have a tib and my friend does too, i've only done minor work, but he's gone all out...... the car is $19,000 stock and i'll take a brand new mustang GT as an opposition, $24,500 stock. Now let's see, with the difference in price if spent that on upgrades the tib will murder the mustang. Oh and on a 1.1 mile track, a stock tib runs only 1.5 secs slower than a $56,000 porsche boxster, and let's not go to the new Z06 so we don't embarace any die hard chevy people ( and this was done by Autoweek, im not bullshiting). And that's stock, my friends tib however is not so stock. He's spent $8500 on his car ($1,000 on accesories). So you're up to a total of $27,500 car. But..... he dropped the wieght to 2670 lbs. and the horsepower is now to 415, tourque is now 390, oh but wait i forgot, if you'd like to race him on the freeway there's a nice little double shot from NOS sittin in the trunk that will leave you looking for your balls when it knocks the horespower up to 615 hp........ so i would like anybody to find me a car that's $27,500 that will beat that. You won't. You won't find a $40,000 car that'll beat that.

So in conclusion....... TIBURON'S RULE

Finally!! There's another Tib owner surfing this TIBURON board. It's nice to know that some1 that actually knows what i'm talkin' about is here to vouch.

What all has your friend done as far as weight reduction?? I taken out the spare and jack(of course), complete back seat and seat belt mechanisms, trunk lining and side panelling, carpeting......pretty much everything i guess. The whole ass-end is bare from the front seats back on the inside. I have no idea how much weight i've stripped out though.

Funny how people get pissed so easily knowing their $20,000+ sports car can fall to a Hyundai. Even funnier when u pull up next to them and see their face as you prove it to them

I think the Supra's V6 is a lil bit bigger than a 2.0L I4 Beta 4cyl. which is what the 10 sec tib was running with. Add the other, and you've only got 4.0L. What do the mustang GT's have?? Or the Corvettes?? So, in essence, with only 4.0L it's running 10's.....still faster than a 5.0, 4.6, 5.7.....well just about all the V8's.....and probably for about the same price. Just out of curiosity, because i honestly don't know, How much HP does a supra need to put it in the 10sec bracket?

I was just stating something you can do to a Tib. How long has Supra been around?? Since the 80's, so of course, there's gonna be a much larger market as far as aftermarket mods in production, and alot more time for people to study the engines find out which mods work better than others trial and error etc. etc. The Tib has only been around for a lil while, and is still pretty much "new" to the aftermarket. Espeacially the 2003. Give the Tib a few more years, let people learn how to properly tune mod etc. Korean engineering, and then we can go from there. The supra (and all these other companies besides toyota) and other "sports cars/compacts" have been out for a minimum of 10 yrs......thats a large head start for tuning and trial & error. For how long the Tib's been out, I think people are doing damn good at workin with what they have.

Well, lets see. IF, big if, there were still some LS1s Camaros out there... You could have bought a hardtop, no optioned Z28 for $20-$21k- the rate these cars were selling the dealers were practically giving them away, preferably an auto for consistency. Thats already 300+ to the ground (340-360flywheel) Do a little weight reduction, Buy H/C, headers, midpipe and exhaust, dont forget Torque Converter and gears... all this for $28,000 and youre speaking of a serious street/track monster that can run mid to high tens, no juice, no turbo/supercharge, all balls.

Now for the Mustang. Buy an 03. You can get one out the door for $20k-$21 also with the cash-back deal, mines a fully optioned GT and got it for $23k with no special offers. Bring the race weight to 3200lbs or lower. Invest in a Turbo, and buy all the little bolt ons and minor things you can think of. Taking in mind that youd do the install yourself... youll have a 400+rwhp/500+rwtq Mustang for yet again... $28000. So i still see your friend losing... but then again im speaking "What-Ifs"

Also, 1.5 secs is a long time... dont try to play it off like its nothing in a race. Youd be surprise how much a 3 tenths lead could fk you up at the track/strip.

Did i just read that right? I looked at your quote again... and... are you actually trying to say that a Tiburon could outhandle and flat out give the Z06 its own ass at the track?? PLEASE!!! Please tell me youre kidding,... right???

I wouldnt be the one calling others dumb, especially when you think a Tib could actually stand a chance at beating a Z06 at the track
