Re: And now..the dreaded PCM failure..
I would guess in/near the REM, probably in harness ... but that is just a guess. I need to get a copy of that DVD.

Re: And now..the dreaded PCM failure..
Have you considered "hacking" it to find out where it is located? Systematically disconnect the PCM and other electronics on the bus and check the resistance with a DVM. When the resistance goes high, you've found the location.

Re: And now..the dreaded PCM failure..
Tom,
Yes, I've checked the continuity of both wires, circuits 915 & 915, through most of the module connectors. I haven't pulled apart the stuff to get to the REM yet. The next chance I get I will: 1) Disconnect Battey (-). 2) Check ohms at the DLC: 2 >10, 2>gnd, 10>gnd, 2>B+, 10>B+ 3) Then disconnect connector C100 (removes the PCM from the circuit) and, 4) Check ohms at the DLC: 2>10, 2>gnd, 10>gnd, 2>B+, 10>B+ That should give me the big picture. If I see the bus is still unbalanced I'll borrow an O'scope and see if I can see the required pulses on each wire. ..maybe I'm unbalanced.... |

Re: And now..the dreaded PCM failure..
Update:
Windstar has been running fine. The data line is still unbalanced. Also the PCMs with keys are still being sold on eBay for 220 USD by a fine company using the handle 'Ballonstones'. |
