Yeah...he wants to run the 1/4. I think with some mods I can give him a run for his money... And he is NOT a good driver...well, at least as good as me. haha. I've got him there.

I dunno... I wanted to modify it anyway...but this gives me some extra motivation. lol...

i think that the v6 camaros the body is too heavy for the v6 engine to pull.you would smoke the s*** out of him if you had the z28 or ss, i know my uncles are car mechanics and they recently fixed a 99 camaro z28 omg that thing is nice!i was in the passenger seat while he was smoking his tires down the block and we scared some of the neighbors, he right now isnt planning on getting anymore camaros he is planning on buying a crashed corvette and fixing it, and keeping it, since theyve been fixing cars since they were 17, and that kind of job is pretty easy.

to RACE?

well.. i think you should race.. especially in the mountains.. where there are actually turns..and you have to use the steering wheel.. and the logic behind this is quite simple actually... camaros were built to handle..not for straight line acceleration... you see that's why you see so many camaros at le mans because of their unparalled handling characteristics.. the evo is a DOG when it comes to handling... it only pulled a 72 mph slalom.. besting the viper and z06 in a comparison by road and track.. oh and you don't need to be intimidated by its .98 g's of lateral acceleration either..i'm sure your camaro will walk all over the evo in the twisties... tell your friend to be a man when he gets his mitsubishi junkmobile.. i mean.. there's more to "racing" then stepping on a gas pedal right.. tell him that and it should put him in his place

i know

since your v6 is 3.8 or something huge like that you should make it a more reasonable match and go against the WRX sti.. it's only 2.5 and that would give you like 1.3 liters of displacement more of DETROIT IRON.. since the sti only runs 12.8 in the 1/4 you should have no problem whatsoever.. to further shame the crappy jap subaru junkmobile..you should challenge it to a race at Auto X I'm sure your DETROIT IRON should have no problems with its superb multilink rear suspension.. that jap crap.. i mean.. think about it.. it's engine displaces only slightly more than a 2 liter of diet coke.. and everybody knows diet coke tastes like crap.. therefore you should smoke his jap ass

man

reading all these stories about these sweet ls1 engines.. oh man..i'd sell my crappy japmobile in a second..i mean..with 6 liters there's no way all these thousands of 5,6,7, and 800 hp+ skylines and supras could win in a race.. man i mean they are only 3.0 liters.. that's like if you took a sweet LS1 and cut it in half..you'd have a japmobile engine.. more like cut it pie style into 1/8ths.. then you would have a b16.. hahaha that's so funny.... and with that camaro's sweet handling.. even though its much worse than a supra and skyline.. it would smoke it.. simply coz it's better..i mean even with a 70 mph slalom and 1 g of centripetal acceleration.. these jap crap cars don't stand a chance against the killer Xtreme looks of the camaro.. oh man..if i had a camaro..i would become president of the united states.. and bomb lots of countries and stuff for my re-election bid.. oh it would be great..i'm getting all horny just thinking about it..

Who gives a chit about engine size! Wonder if you need a special gear for going uphill with those tiny motors. Eaven the tuned ones rarely reach 250 p/sf of torque. Ever seen a jap car do a whellie? Thats because they aint got enought torque. Not only that but those 800 horse engines are so comlex it hurts my head looking at them! Just take a 502 chevy, slap on a nice blower and your set wit at least 800 horses, not to mention the torque you can only get from a BIG engine. And finaly theres the sound... Those car exausts are so f****** anoying. Its like when a fly gets really close to your ear.

Anyways to sum it all up rice mobiles are ugly and anoying

First skyline should either get his facts straight...a new stock sti is not down in the 12's. The lowest I have seen a stock put up is 13.4.

Secondly....thousands of 800 hp skylines and supras, hate to say but to hear about one is pretty rare...maybe there are a few hundred in the world that approach that and I don't expect them to have the longest live expectancy putting up a number like that. Not to mention the cost to get it there in the first place let alone maintaining the car.

You get a camaro SS to 5,6,7,800 hp and you can get by driving it more or less everyday and your upkeep would be pretty minimal.

I won't touch looks of foreign cars but to each there own... no matter how bad some of them look.

Haha, he even claims that the new stock STi can beat the 03 Cobra by a second... if that was the case then the new Subie should run 11s

anoying when they beat you huh? Coming from both sides of the table...It is very possible for a 1.6 turbo CRX to beat your avg street/strip classic SBC camaro. I have seen many Civic Hatch Backs and CRX with turbos run low 13's and they are daily driven. I admit that a rwd has more potential in drag racing. They usualy have better 60' times. Id say that a n/a b16a (I/H/E) CRX is about as fast a mildly built classic..mildy meanin rv cam, headers, intake manifold,4bbl with 3.23 gears and open diff. both examples probably run mid 14's. I do not like the sound of most buzzy exhaust but I do not like the sound of a stock v8 with open manifolds or glasspacks or crappy flowing flow masters. I prefer magnaflows or Dynomax products. The torque really does suck on most imports. The top end sucks on most v8's. Top fuel cars run v8's and F1 run 4cyl. Both make lots of HP..both are fast. Its just a different kinda or fast. Most muscle cars are faster than your run of the mill import ie sohc 1.5s. I know that most hot rods will kill my CRX but I can kill them on a track or auto X. My camaro would never be fun on a track with soft front supension and th350 trans. To argue about doemestics vs imports is dumb expecialy since most new doemestic cars are crappy disposeable fwd family cars. The classics were the best. It used to be a proud thing to drive a american car excluding the last gen f bodies,Svt stangs and GT,Viper,Vette and Trucks are still nice. I think the new Impala,Malibu,Focus,300m etc are a joke. My american cars were made in the USA and there 33 and 24 years old and running. Thats something to be proud about.
