Here's an example of how they can be adapted to fit smaller hubs/axles. In this case I'm using the brake discs from the Tamiya Supra. The plastic brake disc is removed from the hub and sanded smooth. The face of the etched disc has a recess for the trim ring to fit, here the optional fitting goes in place first then the trim ring on top of that. This reduces the interior diamter by 1mm. The other ring fits in place behind, its purpose is to create more surface area for secure attachment to the hub.
