Re: Citroen 15-Six "Traction Avant" - 1952 - Heller - 1/8

Thank you, guys.

@Cinqster: just be patient, you'll stumble into one some day. A friend of mine got one for as little as 50 euro. The only thing that was missing is the decal sheet, but that can be reprinted. You can imagine his face when he walked away with that giant box

I've been watching and loving this build for as long as it's been going, and am really excited to see it finished! It's beautiful, you have done an amazing job. Just really top notch work. Your solutions to all the little challenges were always elegant and well thought out, and it really shows in your model. Perfect work, thank you for taking the time to share!

No really, when you start up your build, I'll be following.

What a masterpiece. The engine bay in itself is a pure work of art. I'm very happy you finished this and I can look at the pictures over and over. Beautiful model, congrats.

Wow, what an immense kit, so many parts!

If mine comes out half as good as yours, I'll be a very happy chappy! I still think the weathering on your engine bay is spot on and my build will probably be a carbon copy, though I like the idea of a roadster! Not done enough research yet to see if it's viable.

Had some of the engine parts off the sprues already! My parts aren't as distorted as yours eg. Valve cover sits flat, but I will use your reinforcing method for the block.

Looking at making new nuts and bolts. Did you think it was worth doing some of the small ones as they are painted...can't make my mind up! May only fabricate bigger ones like fan bolts and oil plugs and do them in alloy so I can scratch the paint off for wear.

Will start a thread when I have something to show!

Re: Citroen 15-Six "Traction Avant" - 1952 - Heller - 1/8

I replaced as much of the bolts as reasonably doable, for the sake of detail.
You can argue about that, I know, but I think the turned bolts are just a little bit sharper in shape then the plastic ones. Of course you can choose to do only those that will be clearly visible once the car is assembled. It will speed up the building process considerably.
