i sold enough parts on ebay to buy nearly everything on my car. all i did was part out the CRX parts car i had, part out my 90 hb when i wrecked it, and sell off some free parts i got from a few friends. my job merely pays my bills and gets my parents off my back about my student loans that they cosigned.

i also made friends with people who can do things to my car that i dont have degrees in, like body work. although i do the majority of the body work, my friend is going to smooth it all out and paint it. the catch is, he doesnt know mechanics, so i work on all his stuff.

the newest moneymaker is buying cars that either look like crap but run or look ok and dont run, and then our combined skills get it in good shape and we sell them for a lot more than we put into them. currently i have that corolla i posted, an 87 cressida, and he has an s10 and a nissan pickup, all bought for cheap. we never payed half of what the vehicle is worth for any of them, that way even after parts are bought, we come out on top.

I make a decent amount of money but after rent, insurance, loan, gas, cable, phone, long distance, electric bill, internet, rrsp, visa, groceries, etc there isn't much left. Whatever has been left has gone into repairs since I bought the car in feb.

Money is a whore but you do what you can with what you have.

If you dont get it handed to you, consider yourself lucky.

Everything in life requires something for something. For example, four years of school, gets you four years of pinching pennies, doing things the cheap ways. But in the end, it pays off. Better jobs, more money, etc...
