The mod with the biggest change are the tires, so go get the best tires, the second mod would be the shocks (if you haven’t changed them since 95, I’m sure this is one of the problems), get some Koni s, which are adjustable, so you can tune them for your taste, and as the front ones may be adjusted just by turning their key, you can change them before a race. I would suggest to make this two changes, before lowering the car.
About the tire pressure, 40 is too much, be careful, as when racing the car, temperature rises, and because of this, the pressure in the tires might get to high. We know that high pressure reduces the rolling resistance of the tires, making your car glide more freely, but it also increases the risk of blowing them, so here are some ways of determining the right pressure
1 See the specifications of the tires you are buying, (in the pirelli page there is a specific section).
2 Clean you tires, adjust the pressure that the manual of your car says, or the specifications for your new tires
3 Ride the car hard, (hard turning)
4 Park the car and see if the marks in the tires, it should be marked exactly at the tire groves, not more, not less.
The pros after riding hard, have the temperature of the tire floor (tread) measured, and the right pressure is when the temp is the same on the sides, and in the center of the tread

36 psi seems just a little above of what I would think is the best pressure.
Which tires do you have, and what measure are they?.

Clean your tirees, ride hard, and see isf you use all the floor of your tires, if there is thread unused, then you shoul lower them, as you are not using all the grip of your rubber

Koni's

Hey,

I got the konis yellow sports adj. on my ride and I'm totally satisfied. There is only one problem, I don't know how to adjust the rear struts . DO U KNOW HOW TO ADJUST THE REAR KONIS YELLOWS ????? plz let me know, I really want to get the Maximum out of my Maxima For better handling get some lowering springs, and don't forget to lower at least 2" , if not, your car will look like stock cause GLE's r 4x4 on the stock springs. Thats one mistake that I've done. I bough H&R 1.4" springs and the car looks like it havnt been lowered. Good luck.

Heavy right foot is my family name

The rear koni shocks cannot be adjusted in the car, you have to take them down, press them to the max and turn them. The full explanation is in

Suspended license sucks, i got mine suspended till i am 18=) still drive anyways, but the Manual maxima is much faster then the stick shift, its about 7.4-7.7 for the auto and 6.6-6.8 for the stick shift, good luck racing, my maxima pounded a 99 auto prelude going 100+mph

Re: Yeah

I think it's around 130 or so, though I got my old 90 integra ls up to 140 once...or twice.
