Dropping is now what a minitrucker does so he can scrape the bottom of his truck all up in an attempt to arouse the opposite sex of the species the minitruckette,

Maybe we should start a thread on new street slang, I need to keep up with this stuff, I am getting older and faster (yeah fatter too, but more importantly, faster) therefore i spend more time getting faster and not studying the lingo or whatever.

piece out to my cream-sickle brutha's in the pizz-arking lot

hahhahaha, are you high?

sall good.....so thats how messed up fwd cars are...

where else do you LIFT the engine and DROP the car??

Re: drag racing...

Who ever said the 240 WAS MADE TO DRIFT!?!?!?!?

NO ONE. It is a SPORTS CAR, and like every SPORTS CAR it was designed to handle rather nicely and go fast. Unfortunatly the KA both variations the 240 came with lacked high-end power. But with enough skill you can take it to that level and use it.

I've seen plenty of 240s at drag events, its an all around car, do whatever the hell you want with it, hell, its your car, do what you want, fuck the majority saying "no, its a DRIFT car you don't drag race in it!"

Geez... Sometimes I wonder about this forum...

Again.

KA or SR are BOTH good for drag racing, and last I recall, people were making much better times with SR all around the WORLD. For the KA, only other car I can recall that was a stand out was Duy's S14 from Texas or whereever ran a 10 or 9 second 1/4 mile.

2nd, if youre looking into dragging the 240sx, then youre waay better off using a turbo'd ka24de.

but to answer your original question, you should be running anything aroun mid/high 14's to low/mid 15's

sorry but suspension problems will not allow you to both....well you COULD do both, but you wouldnt be able to be very good at either one of them

I guess the mindset here is that the KA has alot of low-end torque, which is good for dragging, and SR has turbo which is good for high-end power.

Which I STILL do not understand WHY everyone says this... BOTH ENGINES ARE GOOD FOR WHAT THEY DO, and they get their jobs done regardless of what they are. You just have to have the skills for this...

If only Mike were here, he'd actually TELL you what he's taken out with this SOHC KA.

Id like to see somebody with a purpose built NA KA on the street that is all tricked out.

I wonder what kinda cars people can beat in a KA24DE with all the bolt ons and then some lol.

I/H/E
Test Pipe
Pulleys
Cams
Grounding Kit
SDS Standalone Computer
Maybe even some trick intake with ITB's or such.
Higher Comp Pistons
Head Porting and Polishing
Better Valvtrain pieces
Angled Valve job with some oversized valves.

I bet you would be around 190-210rwhp... in a Naturally Aspirated KA. that would be one hell of a torquey NA motor for an import lol. People have talked about it, id like to see it done. And not these Robello race Single Cams.... Id like to see someone build up a Twin Cam.

you would be faster then a stock or mildly modified SR20.... A Sr20 running big boost would probably ruin your day.... but if you had a NA car like that it probably wouldn't worry you too much hehe. It would have better gas mileage and be more reliable too!

I see some old 510's or even Z cars that swap in NA KA24's....

plus a finely tuned and put together Naturally Aspirated car is much nicer then a built up boost machine, they kick ass hehe

with LSD, drag radials, Shorter Gears, aftermarket clutch/flywheel/driveshaft it would be easy to hit 14's. With good driving and some lightening up I bet you could low 14's or 13's... that would be quite respectable for a 4 banger without forced induction, and territory for stomping some domestics.

i'm still working on my n/a buddy

mine's a single cam though... does 1/4 in 15's. if i would convert it to stick and add an lsd we're already looking around a flat 14.... so there's definate possiblity for the ka n/a

i wonder how a better exhaust would help my car... i have just a tip exhaust now, but ordered an hks hiper catback and a random technology hi-flow cat today..... should bring me down to mid to low 15's. and that's with an auto.

Menismo.

You're kidding right...?

Sorry to break your heart but do you even have a TIME SLIP for those 15's? G-Tech does not count.

You do ALL that work, including 5 speed (stock clutch and flywheel), and if you got the skill to launch and stuff, you'd more be looking at HIGH 15's or so...

you might as well save up and buy a RB25DET, better for drag racing than the ka-t or sr

if you don't know what that is its the skyline engine and has around 250-260 hp

I bet a good tuned NA KA could kick a RB's ass on a small track lol...... all other things being considered equal

what some people just don't get is its not all about HP numbers....
