The bit about it being JUST Royal Mail or Parcelforce...

As for the shipping surface mail - you're absolutely right... I suspect though the risk of "lost" parcels and the delay is just more than most people are willing to stand... Everything nowadays seems to be "right this minute"....

Re: Zero paints to USA

to get the paints - I'd be willing to wait - from the time I select a model and get all the detail bits I want for the build - I could wait at least 30-45 days anyway
I'd be all for the wait if I could get the product - there's always non governmental mail like UPS and FedEx ground - they rarely lose a package these days

Re: Zero paints to USA

Me too - it's really annoying when there's something you just CAN'T get in the UK... E.g. ScaleFinishes has just started providing military paint. Zero can't mix this (already spoken to Steve) but ScaleFinishes can't ship.... Guess I will have to look into ground shipping as the only alternative...

Mind you - according to the ParcelForce website they are no longer RESPONSIBLE for anything... They'll happily ship your new TV to you but if they break it in transit, it's apparently not their fault!!

There is a new law which came into force earlier this year and prohibits pretty much anything being shipped - Royal Mail/Parcelforce are just complying with this, but maybe the rules in Spain are a little more lax. However, the same rules apply when shipping FROM the US - so just as Zero can't ship to the US, ScaleFinishes cannot ship to the UK...
Yes, you are right.
