i liked those vic's in the movie too. i mean...they looked clean atleast. if u wanna do it, then go for it, i'd think u had a nice ride, but at the same time, i think stock looking cars (cept its gotta be lowered for me) are the way to go.

btw...b16, ur civic is SOOOOO rice...motor swapped...jeeze... j/k

I tell yeah one thing though any one here in this forum that drives Chevy's should be ashamed of themselfs with wanna be replica or should I say Clone Impala SS, conversion kits.
Ok, first of all...maybe I am blind, but I didn't see anyone in here say they drove a chevy, nor did I see it listed as anyone's car. So where this comment came from is beyond me. Maybe you should stop watching F & F and read these posts, lol. Okay, but seriously now, I admitt, those black civics didn't look bad, they where fairly-clean looking. But they weren't the dopist shit I've seen by far. You could make a far better, clean looking civic in black with some orginality. Don't copy the movie, be orignal. I mean, I have seen some very clean looking cars with some extreme mods, it's all about exicution, how the whole pacakge flows toghter. Your car is a blank slate, so make it reflect your orginality and tastes. Don't just copy F & F. I personally hate all the F & F copying and shit that goes on. I mean, and now they have F & F products? Oh god, lord help me. I'll never buy that. To me, tuning and modifying cars is all about your vision and orginality. Copying a car from a movie, etc, is the exact oppsite of this. If you wanna do it, hey, it's your money, but I would never do it. Make your car an original creation, and in the end, I think it means more to you, because it's the end result or your hard planning and work. I wouldn't do it if I were you, I hate copy-cating. But thats just my 2 cents, take it or leave it. To each their own.

This actuelly makes me think of the F&F supra. As you might know, the original Supra got bought by a belgian guy who now rents it for special events or meetings. At a meet late November last year, a guy from England came over who had an exact copy of the Supra, only it was a RHD. It seemed pretty stupid at the time that the real and fake were only a few meters apart... but I think that when you see the 2 cars individuelly they both get respect...

Same way for another guy in Belgium, who bought tha Amalio Vauxhall Tigra. This car is really an impressive car, everything is changed, but he didn't do it himself. He just bought the car and now he's winning "Best of show" everywhere he comes. But if he is happy, why not. He payed enough for the car (+/-37000$).

If you want to make a copy of a car, and your happy with it, then that's wat counts. You build a car for yourself, and not for what other people think.

First off. it's just a movie. Them cars could've been bone stock with just a body kit and lights. Sound effects can be added to make a car sound and look like it's going fast.

I appreciate all the info, but I like the cars and that is what I want to do I'm putting in 2 50 shot nitrous bottles in my civic next week. I have the AEM cold air intake I'm still stook on a good exhaust system.
Next Project...
CAM & Gears
Pulleys
Trani-Swap
Exhaust
Suspenision
Body Kit

I like the black civics from F&F also, but... the actors in the movie portray experienced racers.. im not sure how experienced you are, but listen to this reality check for a second: for racing you can have your license taken for years (just being caught once), spin out and die, crash and die, all because you weren't experienced.. and you can't get the experience you need over night, you have to drive the car you own for a good couple months to know how it reacts to get a good feel for it before even attempting adding nitrous.. you are talking about adding 2 50 shot bottles, why 2? have you ever even used nitrous before? shouldn't you try one before using a second?

these are just somethings to think about before you are lying in a hospital bed with a license taken for 2 years, $15k in debt for the car you hit, plus your bills when you get out...

a lot of forum members dont even race, they just prefer to do mods as a hobbie; and no im not a cop, just someone who thinks you need to slow down and talk to some vets before you spend all your money

I think this is some very good advice.

From the movie, they don't mention anything about the cars. So you can do damn near anything, so long as it has the ground fx, black color, and whatever wheels the cop dude said was on the car and say its a replica.

Of course, you might get laughed off the street.... Theres one dude in town who tried to replica the green eclipse that guy races with in the beginning, and everyone here thinks he's a damn joke.... but he also did it with his eagle talon... so whatever. Do what makes you happy.
some clown did that where i live too, i just laugh every time i see it. he should feel like a jack ass. thats like picking someone who lives in ur town w/ a nice car an copying them, why???? i like to be original.

I think this is some good advice. It's always a good idea to sit back and plan your project out before starting. You are less likely to end up doing things twice. Also, it gives you a chance to get a good feel for your car. Every can does react different. JUst a word of advice. If you do put in nitrous in soon, just make sure you have a good feel for your car and know how it reacts like it's second nature before you hit the button. I Think it's awlays better to play it safe with things like this, as safety should come first. Also, if you wanna race you car, please do it at the track. First, you'll have solid numbers, time slips, and info on how fast you are really going. Second, you can race someone else in a relativly safe enviornment. And of course, 3rd it's a lot safer for both you and bystanders (besides the reasons poser listed above). Also, most insurance companys have a no race clause, so if you are street racing and get in a wreck, You are not covered (so all the related bills for the people involved come out of your pocket.) If you want to build a car like those black ones, thats up to you. Just make sure to be smart about how you build it and how you drive it. I personally feel half the fun of a car is building it. Anyways, I hope this advice helps you out some, and good luck in your endevours.
