(Nevertheless some little critics: IMO on the fuel-cell on the right side of the truck the seam of the two halfes can be seen, the silver tape on the cabin roof is too thick and the dirt on the windows too heavy, especially in the area of the wipers)
Thank you for your comments. Much appreciated. I already explained the reason the windshield looks like that. As for the duct tape, I used think masking tape sprayed with silver paint. Perhaps I could have used something thinner. Any suggestion?

As for the seams, I've already mentioned I was going to rectify it. Thanks.

Re: Heavy Haulage - Boat Transport

hi mate good model there. anyway never assume it dont have suspension, they always have suspensions, even though they are hidden, and mounted lower than normal.
if a real trailer didnt have suspension, by the time the boat reaches the customer, all the fittings would have fallen off due to vibrations leaving them with a hefty repair bill! ouch!

one thing u should add to it is the air tanks, and if u notice the photos the beams are thinner over the wheels as to hold the suspension in place.

Thanks but again, if I do not know how they look it is pretty difficult to model them What can I add to give the impression that they have them? Would normal suspensions from a tractor work?

About the beams. I would have to remember that for the next time I build a similar truck. Thanks.

Re: Heavy Haulage - Boat Transport

Impressive scratchbuilding work on the trailer !!
Also love all the details here and there.
Nevertheless I would not have put the wipers like that, as if they stopped working in a middle of a run, I would have put them straight horizontal...
Don't know if it was done like that for any intended purpose...
A pain not to have been able to save windscreen better (it is looking like ruined by glue haze ), but then that finally, with such wipers position, could make it look like if truck had felt battery down and wipers and inside ventilation stopped working while mist invaded cockpit !!
Now it only misses a boat over the trailer !!

Mr. King you are incredible!
Looking forward to see it on the next show in Falun. Hmm.... Maybe we can talk you in on a trip to Västerås in september and show your trucks and other models at Mini-Meet?
Very nice concept an execution, as usual.

Thanks. Will reposition the wipers. As for the windshield, yes it is a shame I could not completely save it. But you win some and you loose some. I am looking for a boat that will fit and go together with this beast. I am considering a new boat theme wrapped in white shrinking plastic like material like in my reference pics. Any tips?

I think a wrapped boat will be better than a real built one, it's more "on the way to" looking.
If so, may you consider only making boat shape just enough to be visible once wrapped ?
Will save material and time, even if not inevitably easier than a complete boat build though...

Ahhh, sorry, I should read everything :-)

Concerning the tape: the thinnest tape I know is the one from Tamiya

suspensions would have to be smaller and mounted differently, and the shocks would be angled rather than straight up. i found a good picture but unfortunately i couldnt copy it to show u
