Got the new mirror on. I found one with everything....including the beer cooler....for just over $230 shipped. I swapped the black textured panel for my "platinum" or "titanium" or whatever color it's called and it works fine. I had enough of it for now, though, and I'll wait until my son gets home to reinstall all the switches and the panel.

OK..final report I hope.

Replacing the door panel and wiring as a bitch. It came off so easily, but obviously the geniuses at GM had something more sinister in mind for me. There was no water deflector plastic sheet so I had to improvise with some of my Road Wrap adhesive film (remind me to tell you about that stuff later). Anyway, eventually the connections were made and the panel got back into its place.

The mirror works great...even the "power folding" function. The blinker will probably be used to keep me awake on long stretches of desert at night. Whoopee!

Now, on to the pos sliding sunroof panel that won't come forward and...whatever's next.

And, I do have a good power mirror that's for a 2002 and ?. It will need a glass because the auto dim stuff is leaking inside this one. It's apart, but I'll reassemble it for the right price...lol.
