i do think the VII is more aggressive looking than the VIII, and the VI is ever more aggresive than the VII.

but the fact remains that the Beast beneath keeps getting more and more potent.

i do not mind the looks of the VIII.

i think a nice looking car would be and VII with the VIII wing... or an VIII with a VII front clip. too bad us in the rally world can't do that due to homogulation.

no bother though.... i don't worry to much 'bout the looks of my VIII for she is always covered in mud or dirt or some other bits dug up from the earth.

and the Evo is a saloon car. just a silly on at that.

Cheers

Wow Tso you have some awesome cars. How can the beast underneath (4g63) be getting more and more potent? Every year the power is virtually the same due to the stupid 280hp limit in Japan ...

yes, you are correct... there is a limit on -power- (a gentelmans agreement which in asian tradition is "law"), but no limit on torque.

the VII and VIII are under rated for a reason. insurance. rating them any higher puts them in i believe class 16 insurance. correct me if i'm wrong but that is in line with the porsches, ferrari, lam. ect.

they are also under rated due to their "law."

what makes the most difference is the torque. it keeps getting more and more, and available at lower and lower revs. torque is the force that rips the rubber from the tar. not power. torque is what accelerates you and en-ables a vehicle to change directions quickly. torque is what climgs hills, slings mud, and generally will spin you 'round and 'round.
torque, is just plain fun.

also, the drag factor keeps getting less and less. so the cars may not look as "mean" as they once did, but they are most certainly a lot slippier.

look at the drag co. on the V, then look at the co. on the VIII. it produces (or reduces... depending on how you look at it) half the drag the V does, or there abouts. impressive really.
the VII and VIII even have shits on their bellies to aid in the flow of air away from to tyres, but to the brakes, and to put the rest of it out the arse.

these motorcars engines are getting lighter and lighter as well ie hollow cams and exhaust valves with magnesium valve covers.

they are rivaling space shuttles with their tech.

the VIII is even slippier yet of the VII. one of the factors being the nose. it is 80mm longer than the seven, and that comes from the diamond star in the centre of that front fairing. it is extended and it aids the air in going to all the right places.

most splended if you ask me.

the VII has very minor understeer in corner entry (in street trim, rallye trim you set all the bits in what ever way you fancy to produce handling you fancy). that was corrected on the VIII by changing the ACD and front TorSen diff. setting. although, you can make this change on the VII via the computer in the car. just re-map it.

that is how they keep improving.

it is NEVER enough, and that is a fantastic thing.

Cheers
