He was deffinetly trying, he's the one that jumped first. And I could hear his engine reving like super freaking high. And it was def a GT. I can tell the diff. in sound. I don't know thugh. GT's only have like 170 whp, and they are heavy. So if they half way suck at driving it's very possible. Plus we raced like a less than 1/8 mile. So...he would have probably got me if we were going further. Don't pop my bubble though!

GTs give my car a good run with a B16.. I've never seen one run as slow as a basically stock 4th gen Si.

Hate to tell you this, but there is no way your car will outrun a GT. Also a 99 up GT (the angular body style) is rated at 260 bhp. Even with a 15% loss through the drivetrain that 221 Rear Wheel Hp.

Your numbers are way off. If it were a GT, AND he was really running you he'd have left you going 20 by the time he was doing 50. I traded my 2001 GT for my 2003 Cobra.

If you really beat him here's what happened:

1. He was laughing too hard to press the gas pedal
2. It was a V6 and he was still laughing to hard to press the gas pedal
3. He just hit it for a second to see if you'd actually try to run him

Dude I saw a GT stock dyno at 170 whp I think I would know. And a V6 has no chance. I have raced so many V6 Mutangs ist's not even funny. The road in front of us kinda winds ~ so I'm thinking he sucked at driving and stangs don't handle as well as civics. I drove my friends and it sucked.

not dissing on our civics or anything but i think mustangs have a much better setup handling wise. i have a 89 gt with cai, exhaust, gears short shifter, blah blah blah. when i let my dad drive the mustang he always beats me by a car length. i have a b16 in my car so there is no way you could even come close to beating him. and i have raced 95 gt's before with my old si motor and they always beat me. sorry but there was no way this guy was racing you. he was prob fu*king with you.

My DX Hatch is a fun little project car, but it won't be "smoking" any GTs anytime soon. Even with a motor swap I don't see it happening.

At least most of the others in this thread know what reality is.

Got news for ya budy, I got three people that saw me beat him. I just said I beat him also. I never said I over powered him. I also said my guess was he sucked at driving it. I know a GT would beat a Civic Si with barely anything done to it. The point was I beat it. It doesn't matter how I did it or why but I did. If he sucks that bad he doesn't need a muscle car. And no I'm not up to date on my Fords cause personally I think Fords aren't worth crap. If you want a real muscle car go for a Chevy.

Please tell me you're kidding??? I dunno on what planet this is true.

There are few things Mustangs are good at...1) Very shitty fuel economy and 2) Going fast in a straight line.

Turning is definitely not a Mustang strong point, hence the shitty suspension design, and way too heavy.

Argue all you want, but how many of you have seen Mustang on a AutoX course?

Thats another reason I think I beat him, the road was curvy and I think he sucked at driving, plu sit was even heaver due to the hydralic lift for the conv. top.

I've beaten many cars I shouldnt have, Mustangs included. That doesnt mean it didnt happen. I think the driver makes all the difference in the world. A win is a win, doesnt matter if its against a shithead, or pro racer.

Also, wouldnt it make a difference if the Stang was Auto? Just asking...

And I have raced many many v6's.....They're slow as dogshit. I wouldnt doubt a mildly modded Si could take one out. I used to love racing the v-6 mustangs, because I'd walk on them all day with the Zc. Top end too...Kinda funny leaving a Mustang at 135mph.

Word to the wise, keep your Kill stories to yourself. How would you ever hope to prove something of this nature? That is of course, unless you have video.
