Re: stripping paint
Brake fluid, CSC (aka Purple Power or Purple Cleaner) and 91 - 99% isopropyl alcohol will all work for styrene. Expect to soak the body for about three days.
Don't use either acetone on styrene or brake fluid on resin. These will ruin your model. These strippers may not work 100% on all paints, but they will soften them enough to finish the job with a brass brush. The brush won't damage styrene and it saves a lot of soaking time.
