I'd definitely take the M3 any day. Sorry, but those Celicas are sooo ugly! (just my opinion though!)

Yeah, Chris, I'm glad you brought up the example of the 500-horse TRD Celica. Even that would get beaten by the new M3. The Celica would have to be an extraordinarily well-modded car to have a chance of taking an M3.

Ultimate Celica AWD

Stock GT-S weight 2500 lbs without leather and sunroof. Conservative estimate say this weight 3000 lbs. There was no information about the weight or performance time. Weight is considerably increase through the added AWD and Turbo parts. However there is also weight reduction involve such as Recaro seats etc.
500 bhp @ 8000 rpm = 6.0 lbs / hp
339.9 ft lbs @ 5500 rpm = 8.8 lbs / tq

M3

Weight 3415 lbs.
333 bhp @ 7900 rpm = 10.2 lbs / hp
262 ft-lbs @ 4900 rpm = 13 lb / tq

Talking

lol
Well I think everything has been said already. There's very few readily- available cars in the world that would beat an M3, and hardly any of them Japanese. Yeah, the 500 hp thing might (just) beat the M3 in a straight line, but everywhere else the beemer would have it stuffed good and proper. And the BMW M3 is simply the top of the 3 series range, and can be purchased from any BMW dealership.

The Ultimate Celica isn't all engine works. It has beefed up suspension units etc too. Also AWD does help out a bit.

22B, Evo7 and NSX Type S Zero all would give M3 a run for it's money.

well if we are going to talk modded celicas, why not talk about modded M3's??

hmm... 350 hp. 3000 lbs. 19 in wheels. 18 in brakes. laps the 'ring 30 seconds faster than the stock M3. i think this would rape any celica.:finger:

oh and this M3 actually looks good unlike that yellow peice of shite

Even CSL would not stand a chance against Ultimate Celica Concept.
500 hp. less than 3000 lbs. AWD. 19 inch wheels. 1/4 mile in 10 seconds.

The Ultimate Celica can not do a 10 second quarter. It is horribly messed-up. It has all the right parts, but they just dont work. And the engine has such a narrow power band, when you shift you are thrown out of it and have to work back into it- WITH A 6 SPEED GEARBOX!! (closely spaced, too, so dont say it isnt!).

Arrow Chris is right...

In its form as tested a few months back, you would see a powerplant with a surprisingly small area under the torque curve.. if they could tweak this problem and provide the Ultimate Celica with some low end grunt, then you'd be talking about a race between it and the M3. But until then, it's a slaughter (and it's ALL M3).
