Re: Help Find A Good Drifting Game
NFSU is fun in its own way, but I wouldn't want to be caught playing it. Need for Speed needs to go back to what it's good at, lots of expensive cars being chased by the cops. Who the hell makes a racing game, with a specified drifting segment, that only provides like four rear wheel drive cars? How GHEY is that? But yeah, it's a fun game.
Gran Turismo. Me and my friend make drift replays while racing eachother in arcade mode. For some reason, if you want to select "drift" mode (the car is looser) while using cars from your garage, you have to select the car, select the transmission and then deselect and you will see the racing/drift mode options. You have to wait on that option screen while your friend selects his transmission and then deselects so you don't start the race without him having selected drift mode. I don't know if this is a glitch I'm experiencing or what. Remember, the buttons on the PS2 controllers are analog. Get an Evo V and get the active yaw control. Set the yaw control to about sixty. Get the car up to about 300hp, install sport brakes and the brake bias conrol. You don't really need racing suspension untill you decide to tune the car methodically. Actually, drifting with the stock suspension is easier and makes a lot more sense with a FWD car (or any drivetrain) so you can see the body movements and the effects they have on the cars manuvers. Adjust the brake bias up, so the brakes have more bite to simulate that downhill feel (maybe a little more in the rear). Get used to driving in manual mode, because once you do you'll never go back. I use Trial Mountain, because drifting around that huge sweeper on the end of the back straight is about as good as it gets in GT3. I actually prefer the Lotus Esprit for drifting, with 400hp and no suspension mods. You get a little downhill action on trial mountain, which is tricky in the Lotus.

Re: Help Find A Good Drifting Game
nfsu is heaps more fun than gt, but if you play one after the other you'll have no chance cause theyre so different. nfs is more arcade so it keeps you interested even if you just muck around. i recommend nfsu for drifting just cause its so damn fun!

Re: Re: Help Find A Good Drifting Game
NFS:U is a piece of shit. Drifting in a Hyundai with NOSSS is not considered a "drift". Unless, that is, you're one of those people to strongly believe that FF can drift (psh). There are NO, i repeat, NO drifting games in america at the moment. Kaido Battle was canceled, and thats all you had coming. NFS:U is not a drifting game, its just a game ricers think is the shit. TXR:3 > NFS:U. forever. If you happen to have a slidecard/fliptop/modchip, look into Touge 3, Battle Gear 2, and Kaido Battle 2 (and maybe Kaido Battle). Initial D: SS is not an actual drifting game, the games took a different route then the anime...its hardly drifting. Its more like being on a roller coaster with your tail out just a tad.GT3 is not much of a driting game either, if a 1072 hp car cant brake traction just by pushing the gas, but its not really much of a simulator, now is it?

Re: Help Find A Good Drifting Game
Jeff, you need to go back to GT3 and have a second look.
In fact, all of you who say GT3 isn't a drifting game need some mental listerine. GT3 can be anything you want. Turn the traction control(s) off on ALL your cars. If I could post some of my replays you guys would piss your pants. Your 1072 hp car couldn't break loose because you don't have it set up right, that's all. The FC is great in GT3. Gear up guys, GT4 is coming! It'll be like GT3 with the cars of GT2+. Ohh baby...

Re: Help Find A Good Drifting Game
i got road rage 3. i dont know if anyone has heard of it, but its pretty fun. most of the game is based around drifting, you compete in drift comps and race other cars in the mountains. it has most of the classic 80's and 90's drift cars, and they all look pretty much drift-style modded. the graphics arent the best, but are still good. at the end you even get to race against the drift king: Keiichi suchiya

Re: Help Find A Good Drifting Game

NFS:U is GAY i hate that shit...."Drifting is making your car go sideways" what a 1/4 assed discription, plus why cant you implement drifting when your actually racing? wtf does that JDM BETTA guy have toretts? we tak about Automodelista(good game) and hes knocking on Integras and shit....what a fucked up guy.
