What RPM,MPH,gear do u drive daily around town?

4k if i'm just driving in traffic is about normal. If i'm driving back roads never below 6k if i can do it

I used 3rd and 4th gear the most.

I cruise around town at about 40mph and I run at about 2100rpms in 4th gear.

The few times I do highway driving it runs at about 3500 rpms in 5th gear doing 70 mph.

I usually use 3rd and 4th gear the most around town, but use 2nd when I want fast acceleration!!!

the thing with this thread is, that we dunno what everyones idle, and redline is, sure some do about 1500 rpm, that may seem low to some, but high for thers,


i gotta 302 clevo, idle about 500-1000 depends on temp of hte car, hotter, higher, and redline is 4600, revs out about 5500\


i do 60 kays (about 35 mph) about 1500 in third 93 spd auto), 80 kays at 2000 and 100 kays (60 mph) at 3000.

Well, my LeBaron idles at 900 RPMs and it's max is 7000 RPMs.

I usually cruise about 2500 rpms, and I shift about 3500 rpms. If I'm playin around I shift about 5000, if I'm racing I shift about 7000

Is that in a 4 cyl.?? My poor z-24 v6 sounds like it's gonna have a heart attack at 4k rpm's. I think I redline at 6.5k(or maybe it's 7.5k) but my stupid tach only works half of the time(although sometimes if I smack the dash realllllly hard, it will come back to life) Daily driving my car shifts at 2500 rpm's in every gear. 70-75 mph is 3000 rpm.

BTW: What kind of engineer are you???
