Re: Another Seibon GTR. Sort of

Quck update. While waiting on wheels i chose to open air vents since I have never done this before. Plus I will be doing a little more detailing of the interior since I got PE set now. Thanks to Stradda for all the goodies.

I also started some preliminary engine work, The carbon engine cover is finished

Brakes wired

Thanks

Re: Another Seibon GTR. Sort of

After looking at the interior I figured that it needed more detail. The fact that everytime I google the GT-R I find more aftermarket items for it lol. And since I recently recieved my Hobby Design PE set, I went for it. I drilled out speaker and air vent holes and added racing seats and a hareness. I also added Studio27 CF decals to the speaker box between the rear seats, and Kevlar to the seats. Hope you guys like it

New upholstery and speaker grill

Decal on seats

Completed interior

Thanks for looking

Re: Another Seibon GTR. Sort of

Finally started working on the engine bay. I hope I am not wrong about this, but it seems like Fujimi is using the radiator as the intercooler in this kit . The only offer a very thin part the goes behind the front bumper that resembles an intercooler. So I decided this would not work for me and got to work.

I am basically going to switch them around. Drill ot openings for the TT tubing and spray the intercooler with Alclad chrome since a small part of it will show. Of course the one here is aluminum atm.

Here's the better scale radiator

And the intercooler

Engine intake mock-up

I'll have more tomorrow since I am posting while I wait for work to dry

Thanks for looking I think

Re: Another Seibon GTR. Sort of

I don't know why I keep posting since no one comments. But here we go. I finally put the engine in place. Now I have to detail. Here's what I have so far

I am not too happy with my work where the intake tube connects with the mass airflow sensors. Have to learn somehoe I guess.

I don't really get any replies either

I like the engine and carbon work however, it is your choice, but I don't agree with the whole stormtroupers thing! Other than that, the GT-R is coming along nicely!

Re: Another Seibon GTR. Sort of

Very nice work. I'm curious about why the rear seatbelts are attached to the rear seats. It is kind of interesting that some builds or builders seem to elicit more comments than others. Keep at it!

Re: Another Seibon GTR. Sort of

Pharr7226 I got the idea from this. I saw it once so I did not recall the exact place where they attach.

crisjr I have a mold so I can make you some just pm me. They have K&N tag on front
Wolf95 just hit me up anytime

Thanks to everyone else for your comments.
Quick update. So far I am going with the Aoshima BBS wheels. I painted the centers with Alclad "jet exhaust". After dying it ended up brownish, but I can live with it. I might also try a taller tire to fill gap in wheel well.

They are staggered set

Sadly I had problem. Somehow, someway the alclad got on rear window. After so many issues with this car I am begining to fell like tossing it Or at least starting my Modena 360 and returning to this later

I love this theme so much I wish I had late BMW kit to do it on. White BMW's rock. I think I might try on less expensive kit like new Camaro so if I mess up white (wow what a pain to paint clean) it wont hurt too bad to get extra kit

More to come (I hope)
